  1. Nice work so far. I think your choice for the front is perfect. I think the front looks better with the gremlin grill rather than the j2000. In the rear the changes work well with the rest of the car. Keep up the good work.
  2. True. Some of the complaints have merit. Thats how the NNL got such a great following. No matter how an award is determined by judging or vote there is always going to be a complaint. In my opinion the fewer the awarda the better. And from my experience no matter how hard you try some things don't always work as intended. And when someone thinks its appropriate to say don't bother to do it if you don't get it right is unjustified and is infair to those who made the event happen. There is a right and wrong way to provide constructive criticism.
  3. I agree. First off putting on a show takes a lot of work whatever the format. Its disrespectful behavior such as this that kills the interest in putting a show. Obviously winning awards is more important to some rather than having a good time contrary to whats been said by some people. If awards are actually not a big thing then just accept the results. If you find the results that offensive then maybe a tactful letter to those running the show offering constructive criticism. They might be able to fix the problem however its a short coming of the popular vote awards system. Its just plain rude and short sighted to condemn the ACME group for a popular vote issue. Thank them for the effort put for for the show. Even if the results are not right be a gracious loser and get over it!
  4. I'm curious as to how the peoples choice was worded. There's a big difference in picking the best versus the one you like.
  5. Congratulations on a well deserved award.
  6. Thanks for the info guys. Will be trying them.
  7. First off I think that ACME needs to thanked for putting an event in these difficult times. The populairity of NNL's was.becuase of inadequate judging. Theoretically peoples choice should be the most fair but it can also have its shortcomings. I think its more important to participate than win a award. Otherwise don't complain down the road when there are no events.
  8. Nice works. That paint suits the car. My attempts to do swirldelic were a disaster.
  9. Cool Cobra variant. You do some very cool projects. Nice job.
  10. How does the ak metal paints compare to testors metailizers?
  11. As far as grouping cars 7 think tags would be the best option . I don't see how it would be practical to do otherwise,
  12. Very cool. Its interesting how right it looks. One of the joys of modeling is to explore wild ideas.
  13. Looking for opinions on ak paints. How are the metallic? How do they compare to other paints on the market?
  14. The last overhual of the site was to simplify the structure. There are always going to be people who won't use the dedicated section. I prefer to go to one section rather than having to search through multiple sections. As far as limiting picture that is counter productive to sharing your work. What I would like is that when one quotes that all photos dont get copied. Ideally it would be nice to select a photo to quote. Would also help if there was an limit of the number of photos posted a a time. If you're going to post 9 photos post them in groups of three.
  15. I agree 100%. We all need to be more communicative rather finding ways not to communicate. Like is meaningless what is it you like. Surely typing a few words expressing what you like can't be that hard. Likewise dislike is meaningless. Is it the subject matter, color stance, ..? Better communication is important.
  16. Nicely done. Great subject and well executed.
  17. Wow the Anglia is gorgeous. Anglias are neat little cars. Great paint and well executed.
  18. Jim glad you made it through safe. One can never know how bad a natural disaster can be. I always plan for the worst and hope for the best.
  19. Dennis you have some great projects here. Tim has had a huge impact on providing me modeling ideas. One of these days I hope to do a version of the 1929 crew cab.
  20. Glad to hear you are taking a more relaxed attitude. And I believe that will improve your building skills. The more models you complete the more your skills will improve.
  21. Wow a stunning build. Hard to believe this thread didn't get much attention in 2009. Glad to see it brought back to the tip. Truly an amazing model.
  22. The front suspension was from R&D unique.
  23. Great start. The changes fit the car well. Lo8king forward to see7ng more.
  24. I concur I do not see a reaction button a good thing. I agree that it would encourage less interaction. Do we really need to make the site more like facebook or other social media. People feel slighted when they post and gets lots of views but no comments. However if one is not a logged in then it generates as a view. If you look at the number of users at the bottom of the page there are more visitors than logged in users. Not sure but I would think that would be the same case if there was a reaction button(only logged users would have access to the button). The real solution is to be more responsive.
