  1. Costco has had someone check your purchases for years when you leave the store. And in a lot of cases they are pushing the customers in that direction. Limited in store stock. Lock everything up and not have enough employees with keys. There are lots of advantages to fewer or limited size stores. No rents, they need less employees. More centralized inventory. The attempt to reduce the number of clerks with self checkout has not been the win the stores had hoped. Higher shrinkage do to unintended customer mistakes and intentional shrinkage by the outright thieves.
  2. Hope you are feeling better today Carl.
  3. Very cool. Great design. One of the best winners in a few years.
  4. Later is the mantra of the procrastinator.
  5. Rather than speculating on the possible cause I'll wait to hear what the investigation determines. My guess is it a combination of factors rather than just one.
  6. Kid you not, in some cases fect is stranger than fiction.
  7. Am looking forward to following this impressive model.
  8. Up, up and away into the wild blue yonder.
  9. Then the unthinkable happened in a blinding flash of light the universe ceased to exist.
  10. Glad to see you have this back on the bench.
  11. A sharp looking Willys. Great color.
  12. Never forget unless you have too many margaritas.
  13. A d back to the subject of the Powell. I suspect it is safe to say that at the this point in time the Powell is dead in the water as we haven't heard anything in months.
  14. Correctly answering all the questions on a test will get you 100 percent.
  15. Again and again I keep doing the same thing and the outcome never changes.
  16. I think there will always be a group who resists accepting change. They've always done things one way and are not open minded enough to see the possibilities of new technology. When aftermarket parts became more readily available there was a cry that it was checkbook modeling and was going to ruin the hobby.
  17. Good points. I think one thing that is missed is how the judging process works. Contests are judged on fundamentals. Clean assembly and well executed paint. You can scratchbuild all the parts, add every photoetch and detailing accessory but if the finish is bad or there are other flaws the model is not going to be a contender.
  18. Got back out of the hospital on Wednesday. Down to approx 240 from 299 lb(Jan 2). Beginning to feel a lot better as things improve. Besides having more energy i can get shoes and socks on without it being such a fight. Looking forward to getting some bench time in.
  19. This week started off with a trip back to the hospital on Monday. Because of the edema I have been having to take a lot of Lasix to get rid of the excess water. It is a tricky balance becuase the Lasix are hard on the kidneys however the edema has its negative effects on the body. My cardiologist wanted to have my kidney functions monitored and still be able to get improvement with the edema.
  20. The higher priority should be determining the root cause of this issue and taking steps to prevent it from happening again. Second there does need to be accountability and actions need to be taken for those who contributed to this situation.
  21. Nice clean work. Coming alongbnicely.
