  1. @tim boyd @Dennis Lacy @CabDriver All of the builders above do a lot of kitbashing. If one looks at their builds you will have some great kitbashing examples.
  2. Be the best at what you do and you can always take pride in the end result.
  3. Solid advice. Rule 1 is the safest. If you're going to use Tamiya. Use the same type throughout the process. If a paint job goes south you are wasting time and money. This goes for any other modeling paint brand. Unless you are building lots of model in a year it isn't going to be that expensive. Rule 2 the risk is even if you test there is still a risk if you don't paint the model under the same conditions as the testing that there will be an issue. Painting is a process. First off prepping is important. Then you have the paint process which takes time. Don't rush the painting process. The better you do the better the model will come out. And the build will be enjoyable.
  4. Carl have a great birthday and may you have many more.
  5. We seldom see issues with duplicolor primers. However it is imperative that adequate time for the solvents to outgas is necessary. As far as Rustleum goes it just isn't suitable for painting models. Although some have success with it for most it is a disaster waiting to happen for most model builders.
  6. SteveG has been a great ambassador for Round2. He has done a great job with choosing new projects and promot8ng them. I also like the information explaining how the choices are made. The limitations with budgets and project constraints are often not explained.
  7. Cool project. Great concept.
  8. First off I would wait at least a day minimum or two might be better. If you have a dehydrator I would use it to speed up the process. When you mix paint brands you are always run the risk of compatibility issues. You really are better off to stick with one brand for the paint process. If there are windows for recoating the manufacturer will tell you. When you mix brands you lose that advantage.
  9. Magazines get mailed at a cheaper rate however it can take a bit of time to get to the subscriber. The magazines are mailed in bulk. The rate to send a single issue is much more expensive. MCM is coming out every two months so it can be expected that it could be up to 2 months to get your first issue. There is typically a waiting period for any magazine to start a subscription.
  10. I'm surprised they aren't doing that well. There are some great parts in the kits for the price.
  11. Nicely done. Glad to see this one didn't have tany major paint issues other than the visor not matching color at first. The chrome straps on the fenders are a nice touch.
  12. Next level model projects can be found on this site which shows us what can be accomplished.
  13. Great new kits. Definitely the time for everyone to put their money where there mouth is. The upgraded clones are great. Hopefully we will see more great projects fron Round2.
  14. Thanks Tim. The Demon looks great. Definitely going to impact the going rates for the original kits for those who want to build. Of course the sealed kits with still be pricey for the collectors.
  15. Was pleased with world championship winners in top fuel, funny car, and prostock. 2 of my choices to win happened. Was great to see it come down to the finals to see who won.
  16. I agree that the dash panel should be aluminum. Definitely suits the drag racing theme.
  17. Wow. Coming along nicely. Great idea for the transmission cover. Great fab work.
  18. I've seen several posts that some members are having login issues. Is this related to the board issues.
  19. How long did you wait between the duplicolor primer and the next coat?
  20. Here is a good link describing the differences. https://www.difference.wiki/ratio-vs-proportion/
  21. Strips of styrene plastic in different size are useful for many modeling needs.
  22. Steve thanks for giving the insights how the decisions are made regarding kit changes and kits to be produced.
  23. Coming along nicely. I like the idea of using magnets for changing the pickup box and the turtle deck.
