I firmly believe that is the attitude to take. Rolling with the punches and seeing the humor in things also means less stress which can cause health issues. It also helps to realize that things could have been a lot worse. You were fortunate you were wearing glasses, otherwise you would have gotten paint in your eyes.

Impressive. Super clean work. Great look.

Box Stock Contest Rules
bobthehobbyguy replied to hemilover's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
First off if you do build box stock then you need to check the rules for that contest. Second I agree about building what you want and not for a specific class. However I think that box stock is a class to be considered regardless of that. It is based purely on how well you build the kit. You still have the choice of subject matter. its also away to work on honing your basic skills. -
Anyone know how old this paint is
bobthehobbyguy replied to junkyardjeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
One thing to watch out for in the paint is the Pactra plastic bottles. In an effort to cut costs pastrami decided to use plastic bottles. The problem is the paint would go bad even when they had been never opened before. I suspect it was the plastic was porous. The bottles were changed back to glass. -
Gotta agree that the engine needs to be moved back. And that will definitely bring the driveshaft closer. Parts box builds are always clue but they are demanding as they need lots of mockups to get everything to work.
-
As far as the drive shaft how does the engine placement look with the body on it. I think that will determine what you need to modify.

Yup the black plastic fooled me. I didn't realize they did them in black plastic. I will go sit in the corner with my dunce cap on for ten minutes now.

Very nice work. Shaping up nicely. Really like the step by step photos. -
Shaping up nicely. By the way the chassis is from the AMT25 T not the Monogram.

MPC Dodge 'Country' Charger Open Box Review
bobthehobbyguy replied to hpiguy's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I have to agree. All the kit parts are worn out not just the body. It would require all new tooling(cloned). With other kits available that is a tough sell for minimum return. Those resources should be spent on a project that will give a better return. There are lots better options for Round2 to do. Better suited projects will help finance more desired projects down the road. Added thought. There are 2 good examples that come to mind. The new Demon kit and the Coronet kit. Let's say that Round2 has those 2 kits in mind and a clone of the country Charger. The Demon and Coronet had no current kits available. If Round2 had the budget for doing 2 of the 3 the Demon and Coronet are much better choices. -
Models to the left of me and rattle cans to the right ; I'm stuck in the middle with glue.

bobthehobbyguy replied to GoodbuildNY's topic in How To Use This Board
Side note. On my iphone in the Safari app under search engine there are 5 search.engine options Google, yahoo, Bing, duckduckgo, and ecosia. Hopefully this helps. I only view MCM with my phone and don't login in because it's easier to use the tablet for that. -
Definitely not a good sign. They have done a good job with the magazines. They are one of a few automotive magazines that are worthwhile reading.

Unsettling behavior by others can put one on edge for the rest of the day..

Nicely done. Impressive work. The next challenge is finding a display case for it. How big is the model.

I like the work truck idea. Fits the concept well.
