Goodbye Hot Rod Magazine?

Bingo . This is why magazines can afford to sell super cheap subscriptions if they have a big enough circulation they can get big advertisers. -
Goodbye Hot Rod Magazine?
bobthehobbyguy replied to Rockford's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm not surprised that HOT Rod magazine a aine is going away. When Petersen sold to Source Interlink a number of years ago all of their magazines started on the death spiral. Higher prices and excessive ads killed my interest. I'm glad I had an extensive collection of paper magazines to read. I only need light to read them and I don't have to worry about charging of replacing batteries. -
Impressive work. Great step by step tutorial. Lots to be learned. Ultraclean work.

So Atlantis steps up to the plate and buys a treasure trove of old tooling. And in that tooling is Revell parts packs kits. Instead of yelling that from the roof tops we have a bunch of box art critics. This is the time we should be helping Atlantis promote these and the other kits they have. Has anyone thought to offer some proposals for better art work? And one final thought if Atlantis hadn't bought this tooling it probably would have been scrapped

Doubt you saw that one coming.

In the 2024 Detroit Autorama great 8 was a white Cadillac. It did not have the same impact as this . If this was full size it would be really cool.

Michaels getting rid of models?
bobthehobbyguy replied to gbdolfans's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Costco has had someone check your purchases for years when you leave the store. And in a lot of cases they are pushing the customers in that direction. Limited in store stock. Lock everything up and not have enough employees with keys. There are lots of advantages to fewer or limited size stores. No rents, they need less employees. More centralized inventory. The attempt to reduce the number of clerks with self checkout has not been the win the stores had hoped. Higher shrinkage do to unintended customer mistakes and intentional shrinkage by the outright thieves. -
Hope you are feeling better today Carl.
