Only 12 days later (30-9-2024) , they're here ! Thanks much , @echoxrayniner ! These decals are incredible ! Thanks again for not only fulfilling my original order, but for the included - and as promised - largesse ( Sizzler hood decals (not just the stripes as in the kit's decals), extra underhood decals, and the correct-for-1972 decals ) ! Thanks again !

Tamiya spray cans banned in Canada!!!
1972coronet replied to Bullybeef's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I remember how stunned I was when I was punched with the news (to me) that denatured alcohol is banned in California (as of 2008 or so). Arizona came to my rescue (not only with the denatured alcohol, but also with "49 State" brake cleaner and carburetor cleaner - you know, the stuff that actually cleans brakes and carburetors, respectively). Perhaps I should "panic buy" some of the Tamiya aerosols and Panel Line Accent, as "someone" may get some ideas and ban those, too. -
US Route 66 western terminus / eastern egression ( Ha ! ) ran from Santa Monica via Santa Monica Blvd. , up the Arroyo Seco Parkway (co-signed with CA SR 11 and US RT. 6) , and out Colorado Blvd , before jumping to a co-sign with US 91 / CA 18 in Barstow ("Bat Country") , and out toward the CA. / AZ. border , over the belly of the Mojave Desert...

Talk about a crapshoot ! I've not received a package from FedEx in decades that doesn't look like it was used for soccer practise ! -

Tamiya spray cans banned in Canada!!!
1972coronet replied to Bullybeef's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I seem to recall that there were "65" reasons that Tamiya aerosols were temporarily unavailable in a certain state - a simple 'warning' label exhibiting those "65" reasons was the 'simple' "fix". -

Any “diet” pop (soda) worth trying out there?
1972coronet replied to Monty's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
About 10 years ago I wanted to cut back on my sugar intake - not eliminate the intake, just reduce it - so I switched to Coke Zero. When that wasn't available, I'd consume 'regular' Diet Coke. I noticed that since I changed to "diet" colas, my brain was acting wonky : I'd feel electrical pulses zap through the centre and to -typically- the left hemisphere of (what's left of) my brain. To be sure that I didn't prejudice myself on aspartame vs. sugar, I simply switched back to regular pop... Within one week, my brain was back to 'normal'. Then I researched aspartame and its effects. It was of no surprise to me that that godawful aspartame has a propensity to cause one's brain to misfire (to put it prosaically). -

All of the "diet" pops / sodas/ et alia are going to have that godawful aspartame in them. That being said - Coke Zero is the best tasting , IMO. -

Landy's A/FX '65 was originally a 4-speed. Apparently the trans - or the clutch ? - blew up on its maiden voyage, so he swapped to a Torqueflite -- complete with the 1964 pushbutton setup. (side note: the 1965 Torqueflite was a one-year-only transmission ; first year the pushbuttons were dropped, yet cable mechanism was the same; and no more rear oil pump (which enabled push-starting, dating to the A-466 Powerflite and A-488 Torquefite, back when they were cast iron). )

I can only speak from the perspective of a U.S. citizen of 54 years : 4 door models and - to a lesser degree - wagons (excepting the '64-'65 Chevelle 2 door wagon, and their predecessor Nomad [et alia] , and the coveted Falcon 2 door wagon) are seen as pedestrian, family cars. It's been that way for positively decades ; recently, that's changed . Fleet-type cars are another exception (taxi and / or police models) , e.g. the Johan '68 Fury I Pursuit , and the MPC '77/'78 Monaco Pursuit - the latter of which was derived from the aforementioned '75-'78 Plymouth B-body Fury & Dodge Monaco 2 door hardtops. The first 4 door sedan release was the Roscoe's iteration (exhibited in 2 door hardtop version on the original's box art nonetheless !) , followed by the T.J. Hooker (c.1983) , and eventually , the Joker Goon Squad / Monaco Pursuit version from c.1989 ; the revised release is in CHP livery. Basically, the Oz cars were typically de facto dual purpose : family sedan with hot engine combos.
