  1. Thanks, Mike, Joseph at Fireball had a couple sets still on the shelf. I ordered them and should have 'em in a couple weeks. Appreciate the referral.
  2. Nice, and I like the nod to replicating the factory window gaskets. Nice job on a classic 50s "Everyman's car."
  3. Working on an old Monogram ’69 GTO kit, as I'd like to build a replica of one I had back in high school. The problem is that the kit comes with the hidden headlight grille, and the headlights on mine were the static open (exposed) style. Does anybody know of a resin conversion for this? (Example here)
  4. Gorgeous!! Especially love the interior/exterior color combination. Very nice!
  5. Just ordered them! Thanks so much for the lead!
  6. Can anybody direct me to a source for side scoops for the ’69 Super Bee? The ones that reside on the quarters just below the quarter glass. Any help appreciated. Thanks!
  7. That's fantastic! The weathering is perfect. What did you use to create the body?
  8. What's with the return of "molded in color" model kits? I got baited into buying a 58 impala re-release molded in color. What a nightmare. For the love of God, please let the mistakes made in the '70s stay in the '70s.
  9. Wood is good.Very nice job!

    32 Ford's

    Revell Roadster kit. Enjoyable build.
  11. I've had four of the ones on your list: 57 Chev nomad; 57 Chev convert; 55 Chev Hardtop; 55 Chev convert. Here some pic's of the 57 Nomad. I haven't started it yet, but right out of the box, I noticed that the stainless trim on top of each of the quarters is too short—Something in between that of a 150 or 210 model and the Bel Air. Confusing, as they had it right on all of their other 57 offerings. I'll see if I can dig up the others in my stash.
  12. Mike, I have that kit and one thing that needs to be corrected is the 210 trim on the tops of the quarter's. The correct Bel Air trim extends further forward than the trim molded on this kit body.
  13. Here in Sacramento, I prefer to visit Viking Hobby. They're a small shop and while I can't say that they stock every single thing, if they don't have it, they'll happily order it for you. There's a much bigger model shop in town, and I do venture there occasionally, but Viking has the old school look and feel of the shops in Milwaukee that I remember from my youth, and Mark and Jessica who run the shop are very friendly and knowledgeable. If you're ever in Sacramento, they're near the corner of Mission and El Camino.
  14. Ultra-restrained and austere approach on this one, Howard. I think I hear heads exploding all over the forum.
  15. Nicely done!! And I love the color. One thing you may not have been aware of, the 'B' pillars on the BelAir sedans were painted body color—no stainless trim. That said, your car makes me think that maybe they should have. Again, great job!
  16. That's kind of what I was thinking. Not sure if the conductivity would be hindered after a couple coats of clear, but I'd be willing to try it. As we all know, often a failure or three gets us to the next level. If anybody beats me to it, please share your results.
  17. I didn't, however, I still think it's worth experimenting with. Nothing ventured, nothing gained...but thanks for the caveat.
  18. Just saw this and it blew my mind as to its potential for the modeling community. I think it could be a game changer. Imagine your scale model with working lights and sound with tools as simple as these. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GoE6riI1Ilo
  19. ’35 Ford 3-window; based off the relatively recent ’36 release. ’38 Ford Deluxe coupe; based on the ’40 Standard ’51 Mercury; based on the ’49 ’56 or ’57 Oldsmobile
  20. I got these, but as i said earlier, the complete kit contents were not displayed:
  21. Yes, but as i think someone else mentioned, the display was intended to show the new features, not necessarily the entire kit contents. They also had the body and some random pieces to the upcoming ’48 Ford Coupe. Even with limited viewable contents, that kit too looks like it will be a winner.
  22. Attended the NNL West Event today. Ed Sexton was there with a test shot sample, looks pretty nice to me! See for yourself:
  23. Stop fixating on the error, consider this as a building option: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YBVeSEU7RQ
  24. AMEN!! Thanks, Dave, you have nothing to apologize for, your kits are all first-rate in this modeler's book!
