  3. I'll be watching this Jonathan might have to dig mine out LOL
  4. looking good Pat
  5. Tamiya kit, re-issued about 7 years ago with Cartograph decals. Being an older kit, not much detail underneath but offset by this beautiful one-piece body moulding. For the first time ever, I didn't use primer and sprayed Tamiya Gloss Black straight onto the bare body. A mist coat followed by two wet coats produced this finish, no sanding necessary other than a couple of dust bunnies after the first wet coat (another first LOL). Many hours of decalling later I have reached this stage....for some reason it took about 5 minutes in the water before the decals would slide off the sheet
  6. Great build Jim
  7. That looks awesome, Dominik
  8. I can empathise about the decals Pat, mine were the same, especially the full side decals around the funnel shaped duct ahead of the rear wheel . It's a pity about the other set being discontinued, would have made a great model.
  9. I agree, looks killer so far Pat. It's a great kit, I built the Good Smile Racing version last year.

    Mustang 67 HT

    Nice build
  11. It was registered in Japan in September 1998 - so technically a 1999 model, but production started early 1998.
  12. How refreshing to hear your views Jason - are you sure you are only 15? LOL
  13. Also, it irks me when people bemoan modern styling (maybe I should post this in that other thread). Similar thing happened regarding the new Mustang, with comments suggesting 'it's not what a Mustang should look like' and 'no different to other Fords because of the grill'. Styling is an evolutionary process, and like it or not, we are in the 2015 model year. It's the natural order of things to evolve, otherwise the '40 Ford, '57 Chevy, '63 Corvette, first gen Mustang etc. would never have come to fruition and we would still be buying cars that look like this: Hmmm, maybe the new MX5 would be better with brass carriage lamps rather than hi-tech modern lighting systems.
  14. I have a 1998 MX5 sitting in my garage, which it shared with a 1966 Mustang coupe until recently. I'm not sure about the 'chick's car' tag, most MX5's around here are driven by middle age men, and I fit that demograhic! I've had the MX5 for seven years now, it's a great driver.
  15. Is that a headless person walking by in the blue coat?
  16. As always, many thanks for sharing these great pictures for the benefit of us 'long distance modellers'
  17. Braydon, I have used the sellers listed by Cliff and also BaLLzanos Hobby Warehouse on ebay, all offer cheap shipping here to NZ. If you don't want to use ebay, Tower Hobbies is a good source for current kits, again with cheap shipping - about US$30 for 4 kits combined just a few months ago. Most of their stock is around US$20 for an average kit.
  18. x3 - you must be over the moon - well done
  19. Our first ever model car show (& the first National show in New Zealand) was a great success - over 500 models on display. For more photos click here http://s1222.photobucket.com/user/maltsr/library/1st%20National%20MPH%20Model%20Car%20Show?sort=3&page=1
  20. looks great so far Kevin
  21. I haven't got the stock version, but I think most parts are also in this re-issue - there are two sets of wheels, intakes, exhaust manifolds and front seats
  22. Looks great Niko
  23. Thanks for the kind comments guys. As mentioned, built totally OOB so credit for the stance goes to the Revell designers. The parts fit is excellent, the glass is thin, clear and drops perfectly into place. The interior fits like a glove too. I know the roofline has been subject of much debate, but the kit is a pleasure to build. More pics for you, Niko & Todd.....
  24. Here is my OOB build of the recent Revell kit, all paint is by Tamiya, with a few aftermarket decals and black BMF trim.
  25. Looks like a cool project Bill
