  1. These builds look great guys, it's going to be an exciting finish for the startline
  2. I have that version in my pile, so I'm watching your build closely - looks great so far
  3. I've pulled up a chair too! Should be cool!
  4. Hi Mark, welcome to the site, you'll find lots of help here. When I add Pegasus wheels to my cars, I use a piece of rod or tube (plastic, aluminium or brass) that fits snugly inside the wheel mount (about 2mm). Remove the wheel mounting boss from the axle, drill a 2mm hole and then glue in a short piece of the aforementioned rod. When dry, slip the wheel over the rod and glue in place. No doubt others will chime in with other suggestions for other wheels. Oh, there's also a section on the home page for how-to's, tips and questions - there may be more solutions there.
  5. A little progress to report. After sanding smooth the tape lines from the second colour, applied a clear coat yesterday and made a start on the decals this morning - these Slixx decals are real nice to work with, but the pinstripes are a little tricky
  6. I use it all the time Ray, it lays down smooth, covers well and is easy to sand. I've tried the pink under red with good results, and they've just introduced a new red oxide primer here in NZ which I hope to try soon. I usually use Tamiya colour coats, but it appears to work under automotive paint too.
  7. Looks great Robert, I've been looking at getting one of these to build - how was it?
  8. I do this all the time, trying to see what it will look like when finished - looks really nice Jonathan
  9. Excellent work Niko
  10. Cool - can't wait to see it on the car!
  11. Here's mine - Revell 1967 'Vette with modern engine
  12. Good save Niko, engine looks great too.
  13. I've been sitting on the Slixx decals for some time now, finally got around to applying some paint to the Revell '68 Dart kit, here's how it looks fresh from the paint booth, just a little touch up required...Paint is Tamiya Pure White and Racing Blue
  14. Sleeper gets my vote too
  15. Nice job Walter
  16. No motor Jay, but the kit goes together really well and is a pleasure to build.
  17. What a great idea Mike
  18. Tamiya kit, Tamiya rattle can Gloss Black, kit decals printed by Cartograph. This is an old, formerly motorised kit that was re-issued about six years ago. The one-piece body is beautifully molded and the kit goes together well but is rather simplified. However, it looks stunning with the multicoloured paint scheme. I added some masking tape seatbelts for a bit of detail. The real cars produced a whopping 375hp from only 91 cubes, that's over 4hp per cubic inch!
  19. Thanks guys, will be posted in 'Under Glass' tonight. They are the kit wheels/tyres Ross, with gold paint and a black wash.
  20. A little progress, added some masking tape seatbelts to the rather basic interior A bit more work and here's how it sits right now
  21. Looking good Fred
  22. Looking great, Jonathan and Mike. Nice job on the wiring, I know what you mean about the feeling of accomplishment.
  23. As always, many thanks for sharing
  24. Nice work, Chuck, it's a great but basic kit.
