  1. I'd like to add a few more if I may, with Delahayes from coachbuilders Figoni & Falaschi Saoutchik and yes, Boyd Coddington Current designer Ian Callum, responsible for Aston Martins and this gorgeous Jag (he's also a hot rodder BTW, owns a '32 3-window)
  2. It's not too late Bill, you're welcome to join in
  3. Hi Bob, I didn't need any glue this time, the curvature of the windscreen holds it in place by tension. The screen butts up against the square rod. It took three attempts to make one that fit like this, I'm fairly new to this technique.
  4. I got mine from this guy in the UK - free shipping http://www.ebay.com/itm/Revell-Model-Kit-BMW-M3-DTM-2012-Martin-Tomczyk-Sports-Racing-Car-1-24-Scale-/131181060700?pt=AU_Toys_Hobbies_Model_Kits&hash=item1e8b00225c
  5. Beautiful build
  6. Now finished - see 'Under Glass'
  7. I bought this as a built up off ebay. Only had three wheels/tyres, so I tried out some Pegasus Astros and liked what I saw: The rebuild involved Tamiya Gloss Aluminium and Light Gunmetal covered in clear red, with a maroon interior. The door handles were shaved, I had to fabricate a new windscreen and borrow a steering wheel from the parts box. Add some BMF and this is how she looks now:
  8. Nice build Jim, looks like you narrowed the front suspension?
  9. Hi Pat I have just done this on my latest project, an old Johan built up I purchased. I used .030' x .030' Evergreen square rod (P/N 131) to form the edges of the front windscreen. These were cut and glued with liquid cement, then trimmed to size. After allowing time to fully dry, the basic shape was drawn on masking tape held over the window frame. I then stuck the masking tape on a sheet of clear Evergreen Sheet (0.010") and cut out the desired shape, slightly larger than needed. With very careful testing, trimming, re-fitting and repeating the procedure, I managed to get a piece that fit, without the need for glue. Took me three pieces, but I got there . It even conforms to the curvature of the opening. Hope this helps.
  10. That looks great Joe
  11. This link was posted in an earlier thread - should help. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=87630&hl=malco http://public.fotki.com/KidCharlemagne/1967-ford-mustang-t/

    1967 Corvette

Well spotted! I found out that photoetch steering wheel spokes can only be bent a certain number of times before they break . So I had to dig into my spares box....... Thanks for the other kind comments guys.
  13. Here's my entry for this year's Cannonball CBP. Revell kit mainly OOB with a '90's Corvette motor. Paint is Tamiya and a few MCG photoetch parts added.
  14. Finally finished my '67 Corvette. Painted Tamiya bright red over pink primer, substituted a '90's era Corvette motor and sprinkled with some photoetch detail parts.
  15. Finally got around to building this as an entry for a wagon build in another group. I'm building this one OOB (other than rolling stock) because I have got my hands on an unbuilt kit for a more detailed version. Anyways, painted with a base coat of Tamiya Gloss Alumnium and panels in Light Gunmetal.... ...followed by clear red..
  16. Still haven't started mine so I too will be watching closely. Glad to hear you have a second kit Ben
  17. nice build!
  18. My local club is hosting a model car show in Hamilton on 28 September - all Kiwi modellers are invited to attend and display. The show is NNL style and not a competition. Please contact myself or Brett Tynan for further details!
  19. Slixx have this on their site - is it the correct Falcon? http://www.slixx.com/1988.htm?id=3302
  20. Sorry to hear that Ben. I'm sure most of us have 'unfinished' projects due to accidents like this.
  21. Looks great Frank
  22. Cheers Ben & Jonathan - when I clear a few projects from my bench, maybe I should start mine?
  23. Hi Ben, looking good so far, sorry to hear about the paintwork. I have this kit too, together with the decals and PE, but haven't had the courage to start it yet . Was waiting to see how you got on with yours first......
