If I wanted to own one, it would look a lot like this. Beautiful model.

Beautiful work on a fussy kit and you exposed all the details that make this kit challenging as well as rewarding. My brother is a writer and was in Indonesia doing an article for Islands Magazine about the recovery of this P-61 when this photo was taken around 1990. Ironically, it was restored in Pennsylvania, just a few miles from where he lives. (Just my personal connection to the Black Widow). http://www.maam.org/p61/p61_recovery.htm

On a side note, I'd really, really, REALLY like to see someone do this 67 Corvette from Steve McQueen's "The Hunter." This was my first choice, but it was going to be too much legwork for me to round up the Revellogram 67 vette and five slot mags. Anyone? Anyone?

I think I'll be joining with Patrick Swayze's '65 Riviera from "Road House." Only it won't be running a "4BRL." I think instead it'll carry this nasty LS I've had clunking around for a while. I've got to hand it to Round 2, they've really cleaned up these old kits. Parting lines are minimal and fit is very good. So after an evening of clean up, I started dry fitting. It all fit so well I just kept going until all the major parts were in place. Of course, the devil is in the details though, right?

I was going to say my favorite version is Junior Brown's treatment until, to my surprise, he hasn't covered that one. Hard to believe.

Yes, they somehow stumbled upon it. I lost a buck on the game at work. Not that I'm not a Vikes fan, but lets face it, Vikes + playoff, usually = Heimlich. I'm rootin' for them, but they still don't look like a Superbowl team.

It's all there, variety, quality, technique, etc. Well done sir.

The Most Dangerous Car You've Ever Owned
Lunajammer replied to David G.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I owned a car identical to this for 13-years, 1983 Nissan 200SX. Dangerous because it was very peppy and REALLY dicey on ice, which on the northern plains is a liability; light weight, rear wheel drive, 5spd and lots of spunk. I bought it for $400 from a work mate who rolled it 1-1/2 time in deep snow. Lots of bent metal but no broken windows. I bought it unfixed and not running, then drove it 13 years. Though I understood how squirrelly it was, it still almost got me in trouble on several occasions. Also still probably my favorite. -
That's quite a prolific list. I admire your discipline to keep your projects alive and finish that many in a year and still build at a high standard. Nice work.

Yeah, she was magnetic and a good choice for that movie. The plot itself is a little disturbing, but also insightful about how an otherwise well meaning man can be led so astray so blindly.

Brilliant. A wonderful and clever recreation of a subject seldom modeled.

Local time means your time. Whatever time midnight is where you're building your model. No customization for you eh, so you're joining the unwashed?

There's a way to do it. I saw Bonnie Raitt in concert and she was here in support of a hot button political issue and only about two times did she mention it during the concert, mostly as gratitude to the hosts (over the ramp of a song) and a quick 5-word jab about the issue. It did NOT stop the pace of the concert and even though I opposed the issue, I enjoyed the show immensely. It comes down to how much an entertainer respects their entire audience.

I never cared for his musical treatments, performance or politics, but after discovering great songs done by other bands that he'd written, I had to concede he's an accomplished and respectable song writer. Side note... After a performance here in Fargo some years ago, members of the E Street Band, one by one drifted on over to a bar across the river in Moorhead, MN and sat in with the house band. Jerry's Bar didn't know what was coming, nor did anyone there. The Boss showed up later for a couple songs. By the time word hit the streets, the bar was closing, but some lucky folks got a great intimate party.

I wonder if a '49 Merc could also help cut corners. -
Beautiful work on some very rare subjects.
