    2020 Builds

Thanks, guys. I really appreciate the positive comments. I was on a tare there for a while in 2020, and I've already completed the first of 2021. Grease is the Word!
  2. Thanks, guys.

    2020 Builds

Normally I only manage to complete a model every other year, or so it seems. This year I managed to get 10 completed! I think that's a record for me. Anyway, here they are:: 1: 1964 Pontiac GTO 2: 1948 Ford Deluxe convertible "Greased Lighting" 3: 1969 Chevrolet Nova SS 4: 1974 Kenworth W900 5: 1957 Ford Custom 300 Gasser 6: Republic P-47-D Thunderbolt (1/144 scale, not terribly happy with this one) 7: 1976 Plymouth Valiant Scamp short-Track Late Model Sportsman 8: 1969 Plymouth GTX 9: 1966 Ford Mustang 10: 1974 Fruehauf PB-80-F2-40 Flatbed Trailer (shown with 1976 GMC Astro/95 completed in 2010) Well, there you have it. I guess I'll just have to see with 2021 brings.
  4. Very nice. I like the color combination.
  5. Oh, duh! I completely missed that.
  6. Nice looking combination. So, when are you going to build the guitar for the load?
  7. Nice looking Firebird.
  8. That looks great. Well done.
  9. Thanks for the positive comments, guys. I think my insurance rates just went up!
  10. It's coming together well. I like the color combination.
  11. Thanks, Jason.
  12. Thanks, Mike. They are cool cars, and wicked fast, too! Almost forgot, here's a shot of the underside during construction:
  13. Here is my first completion of 2021! The Monogram 1987 Buick Grand National. 1987 Florida license plate from The Plate Shack The build went very smoothly until the final assembly. I cracked the windshield (thank you to Jordan White for a replacement), then when putting the body onto the chassis that one popped out (twice), the passenger side mirror fell off, one of the side marker lights launched across the room (Jordan White to the rescue again), and the front left turn signal fell out. All in all, I am please with the final results. Here are a couple of WIP shots of the interior & engine compartment:
  14. Thanks, Stephen. This build will be a little different that the box-stock I usually do. Kind of out of my comfort zone with this one. I've already shortened the frame a little to accommodate the GW Trucks shorter hood (an managed to cut off the engine mounts in the process). The spring rear suspension is from the AMT GMC Astro, as I'm not planning on using the stock air-ride setup. I figured that was more appropriate for a "bare bones" truck a lumber company might buy. Who knows what might happen with this build. It might all go to hell in a handbasket, if you know what I mean. ?
  15. Thanks, Tom. Hopefully I'll be able to transfer my vision in my head to my hands. Doesn't always seem to work out that way some times.
  16. Thanks, guys. I want to finish up the DAF XF105 that I started a couple of weeks ago before I get too deep into this one.
  17. Thanks, guys. Yes, I think a little more wheelbase is a good idea.
  18. I have managed to get some assembly done on my 1976 Chevrolet Bison: I'm not making it a tractor, but a stake bed. Here is the GW Trucks Detroit Diesel 6V92T (as yo know, the kit comes with a Detroit Diesel 8V92N) Mock up of what I'm looking for: I think the rear suspension need to go a little further back.
  19. Nice looking chain drive. I really enjoyed building mine.
  20. Should be an interesting Euro build. Looking forward to your progress.
  21. Great projects all around. Well done.
  22. Well, I guess I'll throw my hat into the ring on this one. Plan is to build a Chevrolet Bison stake truck with a 108" BBC hood & Detroit Diesel 6V92T from GW Trucks. I figure, starting in January I might have a chance of finishing! Wish me luck.
  23. Nicely done. Must feel pretty good getting it done. A 1/72 707 must be pretty big!
  24. Looks pretty good. I like it.
