So I managed to get some paint & decals on Sheriff the other day. The lights & sirens are just placed on the roof for the photo. I do need to strip & repaint the hood and the rear wheel fender cover things, but all in all I think it's coming along nicely. Hopefully I'll get the clear coat & BMF on it this week.

Captain Kidd ship

Standing rigging would be black; ru8nning rigging would be natural rope colored (tan/light brown). Sails would be weathered canvas and tan. -

Arr, she be a fine looking ship. Standing rigging (ratlines) on ships of that era was heavily tarred hemp rope. Modern wire rope (steel cable) wasn't invented until 1834. -
Be careful using telephone wire as some of it is stranded & not solid wire. Stranded wire will work well for chassis air lines, but will not hold a tight coil. If you need a tight coil (like for behind the cab), you're better off using Cat5 cable which is the cable that is used to connect a computer to a modem. The connector looks like the one on a phone cord (RJ11), but it's a lot bigger (RJ45).

That sure is something. What is it, and what was it used for? When you said "Road King", I thought you meant this:

I know, right?

That looks really nice.

Where did you find that decal sheet? I cannot locate it on Round2's Website.

It's a nice looking truck. Very classic Chevrolet. Maybe it's just me, I don't know; but I've always thought the turn signals on the hood looked like nostrils. Is that weird?

That's awesome! Sign me up.

Probably the same Astro that was released several years ago: no bus mirrors & no turbine; but a decent kit, and I good frame for conversions.

Over the years I've learned that what's on the box isn't necessarily what's in the box. Some model companies are notorious for this.

Wonder if the actually found the bus mirrors. I don't think they've been in the last few reissues.

Model Car Garage makes a P/E set for the Moebius 1967-72 Ford F-100: If they make a set for the 1966, maybe they could include the Mercury badging; or an entirely different set specifically for the M-100.

Not that I have any talent to make a Mercury conversion, but it really would just be rebadging, correct?

Looks really nice. Well done.
