Good grief! Nothing is a dollar at thrift stores around here. That would have been at least $30 at my local Goodwill. Good score! -
Same here. My LHS had three on the shelf with a whopping 1 penny discount from MSRP. I bought one. Peer pressure here is a terrible thing. You guys have made me believe that we need to make this a million seller so Tamiya will give us more kits of American cars. I hope it works, but I keep flashing back to this scene from Taxi. Lets keep our fingers crossed that we can get some new apples, er Mustangs.

If you want to let go of the '65 Fairlane, let me know. -

A priest, a rabbi, and a duck walk into a bar. Bartender says, "What is this, some kind of joke?"

Too many tendons in legs for me, I like bone-in thighs for dark meat. My spouse isn't a wing fan, but I like them. A local Asian market sells boneless leg meat. It's great if you want shredded dark meat for tacos and stuff. Of course, I laugh when I see it.

Can you get bone-in thighs?

I have done exactly what Chris wants to do. My "steel" and "aluminum" paints are a combination of enamel and acrylics, plus Metalizer. I use them to make different shades on different parts. I agree that a mist coat of Dullcote probably won't cause any issues. The stuff seems pretty tame. That said, follow what the guys above are saying.

Announcement of Results /Winners - Virtual Venue MCC
Rodent replied to Danno's topic in Contests and Shows
I am impressed that your club pulled this off and your execution was fantastic. Even if /when we return to "normal" it would be great if we could have more of these virtual contests. Four thumbs up! -

R.I.P. Cousin Don, A.K.A. "Corky". I hardly knew you, but you were the apple of everyone's eye in Mom's family. I still have the Tonka Jeep you sent me for my 5th birthday not even four months before you died. It gets displayed on the mantel every June 21st in your honor. I have a feeling that you and I would have been friends if you had lived into my adulthood. Someday, I hope to understand how a "Clerk-Typist" gets killed while mine sweeping. One of my "someday" model projects is to build your '60 Impala convertible. Riding in it with your mom after you died sealed my love of open cars. And your mom, who was an amazing person. It was my honor to be one of her pallbearers (by her request). Sticking my toe into the political arena just a little bit, I have difficulty understanding why the U.S.A. became involved in Vietnam. I have a good friend who escaped in 1975 as a 9 year old. I used to work with a gentleman who was born in the North, but was going to college in the South when the war started. He became a Colonel in the Army of the South and barely escaped with his life in April 1975. He told me many stories, and I was one of the few people who would listen to him. I learned a lot about human struggles just by not shutting him out.

Ding ding ding. 15 inch rallye wheels are the only stock choice if you want your model to have disc brakes.

The seller IS Paul Hettick. He typically posts his resin kits every other Sunday night. The only thing he has for sale right now is a built 64 Squire, but tomorrow shold bring another round of kits. I have never seen him offer parts, and he only sells through eBay. You could message him through eBay and see what he says. He is also a member on here. Good luck!

Aging on Transparent Steering Wheels
Rodent replied to StevenGuthmiller's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
I have an original AMT 72 Nova and an original 72 GMC stepside that are Testor's silver with glosscote. After all these years, they have a greenish tinge to the normal yellowing. Kind of look like olive green metallic. Hope your steering wheels don't turn green! -
Well...... The Caprese salad was so-so because it is nearly impossible to get decent tomatoes around here unless you grow them yourself. Basil isn't an issue because the supermarkets sell the living plants for about $3. Funny you should mention Julia Child. My spousal unit is from SoCal. Graduated from UC Santa Barbara with bachelor's degree and post graduate degree. Been back there many times. Julia lived there and pretty much acted like a regular person, going out shopping, etc. until she got too old. I remember driving on upper State Street in the early 1990s and stopping for a red light. I made a comment about the tall old man in drag crossing the street in front of us, and through hysterical laughter, I heard the words, "You dumbarse, that's Julia Child".
