  1. IIRC, a 389 intake manifold doesn't fit a 400 due to cylinder head changes, so it couldn't be done with factory parts. I am sure there were aftermarket 3x2 and 2x4 manifolds for the 400, so go for it if it floats your boat. Someone did it in 1:1 I am sure.
  2. First group in my company started back yesterday. Mostly customer facing folks and inside sales. My group has been working very successfully from home and will probably not go back until groups 3-5. I expect to be WFM until early July at this point.
  3. Good grief! Nothing is a dollar at thrift stores around here. That would have been at least $30 at my local Goodwill. Good score!
  4. Same here. My LHS had three on the shelf with a whopping 1 penny discount from MSRP. I bought one. Peer pressure here is a terrible thing. You guys have made me believe that we need to make this a million seller so Tamiya will give us more kits of American cars. I hope it works, but I keep flashing back to this scene from Taxi. Lets keep our fingers crossed that we can get some new apples, er Mustangs.
  5. If you want to let go of the '65 Fairlane, let me know.
  6. A priest, a rabbi, and a duck walk into a bar. Bartender says, "What is this, some kind of joke?"
  7. Too many tendons in legs for me, I like bone-in thighs for dark meat. My spouse isn't a wing fan, but I like them. A local Asian market sells boneless leg meat. It's great if you want shredded dark meat for tacos and stuff. Of course, I laugh when I see it.
  8. Can you get bone-in thighs?
  9. I have done exactly what Chris wants to do. My "steel" and "aluminum" paints are a combination of enamel and acrylics, plus Metalizer. I use them to make different shades on different parts. I agree that a mist coat of Dullcote probably won't cause any issues. The stuff seems pretty tame. That said, follow what the guys above are saying.
  10. I am impressed that your club pulled this off and your execution was fantastic. Even if /when we return to "normal" it would be great if we could have more of these virtual contests. Four thumbs up!
  11. Theirs are epic (had to do this)
  12. R.I.P. Cousin Don, A.K.A. "Corky". I hardly knew you, but you were the apple of everyone's eye in Mom's family. I still have the Tonka Jeep you sent me for my 5th birthday not even four months before you died. It gets displayed on the mantel every June 21st in your honor. I have a feeling that you and I would have been friends if you had lived into my adulthood. Someday, I hope to understand how a "Clerk-Typist" gets killed while mine sweeping. One of my "someday" model projects is to build your '60 Impala convertible. Riding in it with your mom after you died sealed my love of open cars. And your mom, who was an amazing person. It was my honor to be one of her pallbearers (by her request). Sticking my toe into the political arena just a little bit, I have difficulty understanding why the U.S.A. became involved in Vietnam. I have a good friend who escaped in 1975 as a 9 year old. I used to work with a gentleman who was born in the North, but was going to college in the South when the war started. He became a Colonel in the Army of the South and barely escaped with his life in April 1975. He told me many stories, and I was one of the few people who would listen to him. I learned a lot about human struggles just by not shutting him out.
  13. I too have had issues with the new Testors. It goes on kind of dry, and if you put more on it foams. I was hoping for a finish on this build that I wouldn't have to sand and polish, but to get coverage without foam I wound up with some orange peel.
  14. Ding ding ding. 15 inch rallye wheels are the only stock choice if you want your model to have disc brakes.
