  1. Yes, it's like that up here as well. I am not fond of Testors overall, so the juice is not worth the squeeze at Hobby Lobby. They act like the 60-something me is going to tag their store before I get to the checkout counter.
  2. What's the Ford Diamond Blue going on?
  3. they're Chinese knockoffs
  4. Handles from their toilets? Oh, yeah -- the air freshener from said bathrooms.
  5. Trashmen, or trashpeople arrive at my curb every Thursday, but seem to have difficulty picking up used batteries and motor oil without making a mess.
  6. Looks like parchment was only available with black accents. http://www.gt-37.org/gallery/index.php?/category/56 Looks like turquoise, black, and parchment were the "recommended" interior colors with Reef Turquoise (K). That said, Pontiac would have probably put any of the choices with any paint color if you wanted it.
  7. I had no recollection that the Boyd's kit existed until I saw your earlier post. Was it always Testors?
  8. Looks really nice! There are a lot of photos online of Shelby's production facility in '65-66 and it appears that the vast majority of the cars left without LeMans stripes. Unknown how many had them added later by the dealers or owners or even restorers, but it seems like that all of them you see now have LeMans stripes. Glad to see that this car escaped having them added. I don't see any interior pics, but what did you use for the A/T shifter and base? You only just joined in October, but please continue to post your work. It's obvious that you have been holding out on us!
  9. Guys in the paint department there tried really hard to color match some paint for the M.I.L.'s deck railing when I was getting her house ready to list. I brought them about a 1-inch square of peeled paint that they worked off of. Really nice folks in that store (ten years ago anyway). I bought some other stuff as well over the course of two week-long visits.
  10. The Bunker car is local and has quite a long history. https://nofiretechnology.com/2001/11/24/worlds-fastest-55/
  11. I have used their Chevrolet orange over Tamiya pink primer and was quite happy with it. It covered nicely in a light coat without obscuring detail. You might want to give it a shot if you don't have or don't want to use an airbrush. That said, all colors (colours) may not behave the same.
  12. That slogan sounds familiar.....
  13. Thing was a character on The Addams Family.
  14. My family bought a used 16' IO boat in 1980 and I towed it about a mile home with my '77 Toyota SR5 pickup because it had a ball hitch on the step bumper. I soon had a hitch on my '68 Mustang J-code 4-speed coupe which towed it much better, and Dad put a hitch on his strangely equipped '70 Mustang 65B (look it up if you don't know Mustangs) with a 351C 4V. Dad used his Mustang for his fishing trips, I used mine for trips to Folsom Lake with my friends. Toyota soon went away, and I bought a '70 Cutlass convertible in early 1981 with a 350-4 barrel and TH350. Already had a hitch because the original owner used it to tow his boat. It was a much better tow vehicle than either of the Mustangs and the A/C would have the interior at polar temperatures in the amount of time it took to retrieve the boat. Important when you are in your early 20s and you and your friends just spent 10 hours boating/skiing on a 103 degree day. Really odd thing was that my Mustang was code "N" Diamond Blue, Dad's '70 was code "N" which was called Pastel Blue by then, and the lower color of the boat was exactly the same shade. Unfortunately, I have no pictures of the boat or of any of the fun I had with it.
  15. So, you don't fly? You realize that a "computer" and a glide slope at the airport is what really lands the plane, right? Things go wrong at times, but things go right most of the time. Except when the people entrusted with flying the plane don't know what to do when the glide slope is turned off. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asiana_Airlines_Flight_214
  16. minors admitted also
  17. That is what I was thinking as well.
