  1. It looks like a popular build, lately. I just finished it, tonight. It fought me, tooth & nail, during final assembly. It has it's flaws but I'm calling it done.
  2. Just my luck, it'll be the diesel pick up. LOL
  3. On the other side of the coin, it inflates the "perceived value" for owners of, not so restored cars. A guy watches Barrett Jackson Auctions & sees a, no expense spared, all NOS parts, fully restored, 100 point, fully documented, 70 Hemi Cuda sell for, say, $300,000 (sold at a loss, btw). Now he thinks his, rusty, slant 6, plain Jane, 70 Cuda must be worth at least $30,000. I actually overheard a guy, in a restaurant, saying he watched a Hemi Challenger go for stupid money, at B J, & if he put a Hemi in his, it would be worth the same. It was all I could do, to not go "school" him, about the difference. He seemed like the kind of guy, that would have argued his point, ad infinitum.
  4. Oh please, please be Greg Myers post.
  5. Thanks Eric. Your fiberglass parts are very convincing. I have saved your "formula", for future reference.
  6. Not to detract from the Porsche, but where did you get the top, on the Cobra, in the background?
  7. I can't believe those are the same models, you started with. Fantastic job. It's like you made a photograph, from a cartoon.
  8. More progress, today. I got the chassis done The bottom of the cassis Wheels are from the Revell Owens Corning Corvette & the tires are from my parts box Body still needs the windshield foiled Firewall installed. Not much more to go.
  9. Thanks Dan. The model is finished. Here's a link to the under glass post http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=83108&hl=
  10. Thanks Kyle Thanks Gene. Yes, the instrument cluster is the kit part. The only parts, not from the kit, are the tires, wires, & bare metal foil.
  11. I did some work, to the motor, today I finished the plug wires & installed the carb Put the air cleaner on Added a fuel line And the oil filter
  12. Here's what my bench looked like, before I started. Watching Street Outlaws This is how I left the Corvette motor Distributor wired & carb installed Air cleaner & fuel line Oil filter The bench is a little cleaner
  13. Thank you all.
  14. All of the above. But on the plus side, I did find 2 kits, painted & partially assembled, while digging though my abandoned projects. So I was able to finish one, before the end of the year & have a good jump on this year. Last night, I was looking through pictures, on my computer, & noticed how far along I was, on another build (not painted though), so I think it may be build #2 of this year.
  15. I found another "abandoned" project, a Revell 68 L-88 Corvette. I had painted it Testors, Colors by Boyd Pearl Orange. The engine block, heads, & oil pan had been assembled. The interior was painted & flocked but need assembly. This is the painted body with the rocker molding installed Engine painted auto parts Chevy orange engine paint & trans painted metalizer aluminum Interior assembled. Gauge "lenses" were simulated with clear epoxy Holley carb, from my parts box painted gold & silver. I still need to dull coat the gold Front grill & bumper installed Rear bumpers & tail lights installed Completed interior Engine getting there Soft top. Unfortunately, I didn't paint the hard top. I think I may have a little paint left, maybe enough to paint the hard top.
  16. Amazing builds. Super clean with ultra smooth, shiny paint. Or, as they say, where I come from, WOW!
  17. It's nail polish. I tossed the bottle, so I can't tell you the brand or color.
  18. Thanks for all the comments.
  19. Amazing work. The body mods came out great, for a guy who says, body mods don't work out for him. You're really turning a sow's ear, into a silk purse.
  20. I, also, am very happy that Jason revived this thread. Otherwise, I would have never seen this jewel. Mr. Obsessive is an understatement. You are a master of the craft. It's fun to watch you build. Now I have a guide, to build mine.
  21. I spent some quality time, at the bench, today/ tonight, & finished my last model for the year.
  22. I was only able to complete 2. I hope to do better, in 2014. AMT 70 Monte Carlo low rider Revell 67 Charger Revell 66 Ela Camino
  23. Here's a couple more work bench shots. I did get it finished, before the end of the year. Here's a like to the Under Glass post. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=83567 Just after mating the body to the chassis Roker moldings, door handles, & wipers installed
