  1. This one is now Under Glass http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/160604-green-jeep-finished/
  2. Bummer! That kit’s chassis is so useful that I recommend buying another kit. Pilfer the glass from it and then figure out another truck to put one under! Someone here just showed a Revell 50 Ford pickup! I put one under a Datsun pickup just for fun. Oh, some caution.. I remember the glass snapped right into that body so sure that it wouldn’t come out again.
  3. Thanks Sam! After two cases I have a bit of experience and would be happy to add your shelves if it wasn’t such a long ride!
  4. The display case is complete! I doubled my capacity by adding three levels, nine new pieces of glass in all. I covered the mirror back with bulletin board paper. The mirror reflected the entire room and it was impossible to take photos without being in them. I still need to remove and maybe paint the bottom doors since the laminate went bad. I’m glad to be done! I wanted to do it for a long time!
  5. I get my second dose of Pfizer on Wednesday. I was in a Zoom meeting yesterday about a potentially lucrative project.. one of the requirements was to be vaccinated as an essential worker.. no problem! And the chuckle of the day... You know your wife really doesn’t pay attention to your hobby when you present this as your new build, she glances briefly and says, “that’s nice”
  6. EBay sends the email. The seller only knows how many people are watching, but not who
  7. Interesting take on this one!
  8. You see them for sale from time to time at auction. I just never knew the history. Neat!
  9. Great replica! You certainly nailed it!
  10. It looks like a horseshoe crab!
  11. Today I got the new shelves installed in my larger showcase. Tomorrow I’ll take a photo in daylight, I just tried and it’s all glare and reflections off the glass. Tomorrow I’ll put the models back, a lot less crowded this time!
  12. I didn’t venture into the model room today, but still in the game! I’m working on adding shelves to my main display case. I got all the shelf peg holes done, cleaned up and polished all the glass. Now I’m working on a poster background to cover the rear mirrors. Marginal results so far
  13. This build is not my cup of tea, but I will follow along and learn more about prostock cars. That’s how I’ve expanded my horizons, ya never know.. I’ve built two modified stockers! I’m amazed at the collective knowledge of obscure subjects that this board possesses!
  14. I mentioned earlier that there are folks who can pay $1000 for a kit they want and never miss the money. That’s called expendable income. It does bother me to see guys who cannot afford what they’re buying, taking food from their families. We all know one of those.
  15. My wife spent a lot of time on internet and phone and found a new vaccine location opening up. She called, they answered immediately and took a reservation for the two of us! The catch? A two and a half hour trip each way! And we go back there next week. At least it was a nice drive in the country!
  16. I stopped in Michael’s on Sunday to get some poster board and couldn’t believe how bad the model section had shrunk. They had maybe a dozen car kits.. not a dozen different stock numbers but a total of a dozen kits!
  17. Jerks do that right before a repop like this comes out. Hoping to find some poor uninformed sucker who doesn’t know it’s coming and thinks he’s getting a smoking deal on an original!
