  1. Since the 1958s were mentioned here are mine. These are promos, notice the warping. And a more refined 1960. I think the 59 was the wildest chrome buggy.
  2. I’m sure all of us can use some organizing. Just this week I found a Mercedes Gullwing parts kit I swear I never saw before! Up in my model room there are maybe 100-200 random kits. All stacked against walls. In my basement, I have a finished room I call the warehouse. Here is the bulk of my hoard. All kept in industry 12 kit cases. These are stacked in three rows, all segregated and end flaps marked. One case will be all VW. With makes I have a lot of, there will be Mopar 1950s, 1960s etc. I can usually find something fairly quick.
  3. I have to answer this... From inside the Pharma bio industry.. the press has made a big deal over nothing. A single batch was rejected. An everyday occurrence and product loss is figured into production. With very rigid quality standards at every step of the process, an entire batch will be rejected for an abnormality in any of the samples. Those rejected batches get used for training, calibration of equipment and research. Incompetence would be NO product rejections in this business!
  4. AKA -Airport Limo. Very common back in the day. Not a common survivor, especially as solid as that one looks.
  5. I’ll agree with Don! This and the two 1963 Corvettes in that series. Nicely detailed and proportioned, go together well. These are the perfect canvas to practice paint and detailing. And you’ll have a pleasing result that won’t look out of place on a shelf of full detail models.
  6. Congrats to those who finished! I will soldier on into the next round with the Studebaker Gullwing. I have gotten past the wheelbase issue but see more fit issues ahead that I set in motion 30 years ago!
  7. Looks great! I have to break out my Moebius Fords and build one!
  8. Just wait! I have way in excess of 1000 kits. It happens, nothing to worry about. I have the space to store them. I will buy more When I see things I like. One day there will be one heck of an estate sale!
  9. No worries, you got them on sale and now you have them for future projects. The very definition of having a stash! I had two of the glue kit and tw of the snap kit in my stash. I don’t even remember when I got them. One day I got this idea and was fortunate to have the kits in stock!
  10. Thank you Glenn! I never would have guessed! These parts came in a big bag of parts I once bought.
  11. Here’s something I found while sorting through the parts box... Looks like a custom grille to something... can anyone ID? Thanks! Note- used part that someone nicely painted the black sections
  12. Cardboard mock up stage.. Shapes transferred to plastic.. much cheaper to screw up on free cardboard!
  13. Those fees are charged to the seller. Pretty much like any credit card would work, charging the seller / store the fees.
  14. As a noob focus on the basics. For your first few projects, build the kit per the instructions to get familiar with the process and common pitfalls. You will learn something with each build. Choose your first kits carefully. There are nightmare kits that will make a newbie run for the hills! Ask the board here for recommendations for kits in your area of interest that aren’t over complicated and go together well. Then concentrate on getting the basics right before going for extra details. Clean up all the parts. Check fit of everything before gluing, paint your parts and just go for a good clean build.
  15. How about finishing a model? While I’m building, I’m thinking about the model even when not working on it. On my way to work.. in bed as I’m trying to fall asleep.. I’m mulling over issues or my next steps. Let’s say I’m “all in” and involved in the process. As I near completion, I find myself slowing down.. like I’m sorry to see it finished because then it would be over! No more next steps or possibilities.. almost a sad end. Anyone else?
  16. Agreeing with you on the A pillar! When I cut the doors from one, I managed to break the entire nose from the body. I used that nose here!
  17. Very cool! I’ve been following the build thread from the start, a lotta fun! Great model!
  18. Nothing is discontinued forever anymore. Modern tools are always on a rotation. There are enough copies of the 50 Chevy pickup in circulation to keep the value down.
  19. Very cool! Gotta love old school Rancheros!
