  1. I'll take your word for it, I just didn't see it on JF's site. The quality/cleanliness of the casting was what gave me doubts. JF's are generally much cleaner around the edges, whereas Ray's stuff invited more participation, let's say, on your part. Also, for some reason, the link you posted opens up this page!
  2. The red is a perfect background to the decal colors. Tasty color scheme, and such a clean build. Another fine example of what a modest kit can become. BTW, Jairus Watson did a fantastic article a few years back showing how to detail one of these, and he really breathed new life into the kit, with simple scratch-building and a keen eye. Worth looking up, it was in Model Cars magazine , of course!
  3. Wonderful color choices all around; it DOES have that "sales brochure" look to it! Hey Round-2, this would be a sweet combo...
  4. Be warned on the AMT snapper, if yours is molded in red, its the fun kind that likes to bleed through primer and paint. A sealer is a must. Some of the Ram kits were molded in black, a little easier to work with.
  5. Thanks for posting those links! Much goodness to absorb.
  6. I think you are exactly right. Lots of room ahead of that rear wheel, and seems to match perfectly the long bed's proportion.
  7. Very nice looking models. I really like these old Chevy body styles. You've made some clean models, and your color choices are superb. I like the golden yellow color very much. Well done.
  8. A real sleeper; workman-like outside, but surprise when you pop the hood! Very nice color choice, but how could you resist 2-toning a '55??
  9. Love that view peeking under the hood. Wicked.
  10. Nice clean builds, and that green scheme is just SHARP! What paints did you use for those colors? Gorgeous!
  11. Beautiful! Nice job all around; clean build, excellent finish, meticulous foil work, perfect colors, great presentation. The color is totally believable as a factory finish. After such attention to detail, please tell me you ground off the bogus "detail" from the passenger side inner fender. I always wondered if maybe they might have planned at some point to mold on heater hoses, and the idea was nixed, but someone didn't get the memo?
  12. I like what you've done with both, but I find the copper color to be absolutely stunning! The more I look, the more I love it. That's a standout paint scheme. Very well done.
  13. Has a real 1970s magazine cover-shot vibe! Could be Hot Rod, Truckin', Rod & Custom, or one of a half dozen others; it fits them all. The cool factor is right off the scale. Nicely done.
  14. Looks like the old comic Batmobile! Nice job, and just plain FUN!
  15. Excellent treatment of an older kit. Very well done.
  16. Now they look right! Also, you get bonus points for using the correct font on "Hooker Headers".
  17. My uncle had one, hated the color, and had his brother spray it beige/tan! Looked OK, with the black vinyl top and all, but there was nothing wrong with the bright green! I loved it.
  18. Very nice work. What color have you landed on? These bodies look good in just about anything you sling at them.
  19. Red interior is nice and clean. Looking good!
  20. Apparently it's been sitting in the bushes for awhile, I'm surprised the roll back mechanisms aren't rusted firm! Love it. Very authentic weathering, the rust on the bed is phenomenal, and that front bumper just feels heavy! Nice work, the toy is officially a MODEL, sir.
  21. Very wicked looking street machine there. I share your appreciation of the body style and of Monogram models!
  22. Fun to see what you may do with this one. I've had one in the stash for some time now. I thought about setting it on a Mysterion chassis, but haven't given a lot of thought yet, too many other projects ahead of that!
  23. Traditional-ish black and white 2-tone interior would seem appropriate. Black carpets, white seats with black pleated inserts, similar door panels. (?) A deep oxblood red could be snazzy, too!
