One of my favorites from when I was a kid. I had TONS of Hot Wheels/Matchboxes, but I had a Corgi that stood out over them all. I'd love to have another one.

I don't care for the Beatles at all (and neither did my parents), and I'm not big on Pink Floyd. I can handle the Stones, and like a lot of Zepplin.

Check the video for "Gimme All Your Lovin'". It looks like the interior is a dark red and cream/light tan (radome tan?)

Got in an AMT Studebaker Avanti kit. I'm really impressed with the level of detail and options.

Unfortunately, all of my old models are gone. I don't have any of them from before.

Wasn't there someone building one of these Ferrari transporters? I believe it was a Bartoletti, if I remember correctly. Fantastic work....

Ummmm... No. Looks like someone cut a wedge out of the front of a '36 Ford. It looks like a classy doorstop.

This is a lot I recently picked up. The Impala on the right side is almost complete now. It was missing a few parts, but it came out pretty decent.

I usually do the engine and chassis while waiting on the body parts to dry in between coats. It just depends on the kit and the supplies I've got on hand.

Once in a while, but not often. Usually just paint them however the mood strikes me. I'm doing the Starsky and Hutch Torino according to the box for the most part.

Big Lots doesn't do closeouts like they used to. They usually do what they call "engineered closeouts" where a manufacturer makes too much of something, or they change the packaging, and BL sells the difference. Mostly it's just discounted items now. Used to work there.

Got in a lot from eBay, consisting of a couple of Ferrari's (Daytona and Enzo), a Pantera, Ford GT40, and a body for a Maserati Bora.

Looks like it's a ground up new kit. The chassis looks a lot better that the Monte Carlo SS kits.

Some of the advanced safety systems make sense. The crumple zones that cause the structure to collapse to keep shock from being transferred to the passenger compartment was a brilliant move. There's a video for the 50th anniversary of the IIHS (International Institute for Highway Safety) showing a 2009 Malibu in a front end collision with a 1959 Chevy sedan. It's not pretty, especially for the 59 Chevy. The passengers in the Malibu would have survived with minimal injuries, but the 59 was just crushed because the X-frame collapsed and bent. But I do agree that the stylists need to all go back to art school and not just let aerodynamics do all the work.

Although, as soon as someone mandates self-driving cars as standard will be the last time I buy one.

I saw an Airfix kit that shocked me at one of the local hobby shops. It was a 1/24 German fighter from WWII (BF109?). I couldn't imagine the size of that thing. I'd be tempted, but I don't have the room.

I'd say the Fujimi enthusiast kits. I remember the Porsche 356 being a stunning kit. Complicated little bugger, but outstandingly detailed. Look at some of the Mobius kits, the Galaxie Chevys and the really detailed Tamiyas and Hasegawas as well. No one can guarantee 100% accuracy unless you can actually start it, but these things are relative anyway. Make them as detailed and accurate as you like.
