Unfortunately, they screwed up the xB with the update. It went from a kinda cute "toaster" to just a really weird looking not-quite-crossover. I always did like the TC, kinda hoped they'd kit that one.
I use craft acrylics all the time on my models. I still use lacquer primer as a base coat before the paint, otherwise it wont stick. You also have to watch how much you thin them, even with primer. Someone once mentioned using Windex as a thinner for that sort of paint.
I picked up a set of 3D printed wire wheels for my Jaguar E-Type. They're absolutely lovely. You have to sand the wafer off the back of them, but there's no assembly needed except for painting and installing the knock off.
Please forgive my ignorance on this topic, but what exactly are the flaws on the Revell kit? The only really big issue I've spotted on mine was the nose, and that was corrected by reshaping the headlight openings. Everything else I can tell is relatively close.
And odd shapes for things that are pretty standard. Still don't know what they patterned the engine for the Monte Carlo after, but it sure wasn't a small block Chevy.
Finally got my lot of BMW stuff last night. Got in a parts kit to complete the BMW 635CSi I'm working on now, plus I got an ROG BMW 507, Heller BMW 328 and Revell BMW Z1. All 3 are pretty nifty, they just need a little repair.
I've been trying this on the BMW 635CSi that I'm working on right now. Some of the chrome pieces needed a touch up after sanding off the attachment points, so I polished the black plastic out and just brushed the AllClad on. Can't see the repairs now. I've also done one piece with primer/gloss black, and it's CHROME. Works really well brushed on.
