Snake VS Mongoose on the BIG SCREEN
DavidChampagne replied to Dragline's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Just bought the DVD at Walmart for $10. It is not a high budget film, but, I liked it. I would recommend it to anyone that has been a longtime drag fan. Some great old footage. Lots of restored dragsters. Except for the guy playing the reporter with the bad wig and fake mustache, the acting is not all that bad. Even had a few shots of Jungle Pam and Linda Vaughn. Well worth $10.....LOL -
Did you notice the comment: A BILLION dollars would last about 4 years.

Michael Schumacher in a coma after a ski accident
DavidChampagne replied to Quick GMC's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I have been a fan of his for a long time. That article broke my heart. I don't mean to sound cold, but, they have finacial means to accomplish this. People have come out from comas before. I think if I was in the famalies position I would do the same. Give it some time, try everything possible and see what happens. I don't know how long I would want to drag it out though, for his sake. -
Snake VS Mongoose on the BIG SCREEN
DavidChampagne replied to Dragline's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Has it come out on video? I don't really expect much from the Movie except for maybe footage of the older cars. -
I bought a separate dimmer switch with an electric cord. Plug the dehydrator into the switch. Plug the switch in wall. I suggest you get a food thermometer so you can watch the temps. I had to mark my switch with masking tape and a marker once I found out where the 105 degrees setting would be. Everything I read said max temp of 105. I start off at around 90 degrees then work my switch up. I stay at 100 degrees +/-.

I read on a F1 site that they are looking at putting a $200 million cap on F1 teams in the coming years. No real details on what that would include. Just that one statement. When you think about all the workers and engineers that build the car, driver salaries, all the members of the team that have to go to the races, hotels and meals and airline tickets and all the hospitality areas--sounds like there will be serious cuts someplace. Would be great to see an American team in there.

Barrett Jackson Auction Begin Today!
DavidChampagne replied to Misha's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
If you have "DISH" TV, starting today, look at channel 397 (6 pm central time) and channel 206 (8 pm central) I don't know if they are the same or not, so, I will DVR both. 397 is not HD, 206 is HD. Both are FOX stations. I searched "Barrett Jackson" and it did not come up. You have to search "Car Auction" to find all the listings. Again, this for "DISH" customers only. Don't know about "DIRECT" or cable. Now, to talk my wife out of taping her shows...LOL. -
Looks great. I hope to build one also. I am curious, how did the parts fit? I saw the comments about rotating the engines in a bit so all the exhaust pipes line up and I would agree. If possible now. Also, if I read his book correctly, There should only be 14 exhaust pipes down the middle. The two last ones went under the cockpit. I never saw it mentioned on this car, but I know he also liked the pipes at the same angle as his rollgage. I can't tell from the pics if the kit comes this way. If any of you are interested, his book is a real good read. Lots of pics too!

"RUSH" the movie
DavidChampagne replied to DavidChampagne's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Chris, The movie is not loaded with nudity (maybe three brief scenes), and they used the F word three or four times. Wasn't trying to be misleading. It really is a fasinateing story and I hope you enjoy it. -
"RUSH" the movie
DavidChampagne replied to DavidChampagne's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I was surprised and pleased with the storyline. Not exactly what I expected. As much as I like Formula 1, I am glad it was not overloaded with racing scenes. I wonder if those of you that saw it laughed as much as I did during one scene. I was surprised at the nudity (not much) in a Ron Howard movie. I did hear my wife when she saw Thor's butt though, LOL. -
"RUSH" the movie

Certainly not a movie for the young ones. Language gets rough and there is some nudity. But it is really good. Don't miss it. -
Just returned from seeing the movie "RUSH". It was great. Thank You Ron Howard.

I finally got around to finishing my surfboard. I stained it then covered it with Polyurethane. Then I decided to clear coat it with Testers Enamel clear. The clear felt dry to touch but never hardened. If I set the board on a rack, it would sort of dent the finish. And this was after days and days of drying. So I wet sanded with 1500 and 2000 and applied two coats of Future. It came out pretty good, considering I snapped and had to re-glue the fin,(THREE TIMES)!

Love the build. Maybe it can use all 8,000 h.p. now. I'm no mechanic but I would think if you can get better traction, you could put in more clutch. Less slip, more grip. Bye Bye! Those four front wheels may come handy. Great job.

Thanks for posting. I love the movie. Went straight to YOUTUBE and downloaded it. It is listed as just "CHERRY" but that is it. You did a bang up job on the car.

Where do they go?
DavidChampagne replied to moparmagiclives's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
We found a cheap china hutch at a big furniture store many years ago. I added some shelves and put mu 1/8, 1/12 and 1/16 models in there. If I ever build the models in my closet I will need another. My wife found the smaller ones that are each side somewhere on the internet. They hold 16 1/24 models each and rotate. %5BIMG%5Dhttp://i1103.photobucket.com/albums/g473/davidchampagne/MISC/MVC-012F.jpg
