Looks like you're going to have to do some serious reshaping of the rear wheel cutouts.

Going Overboard With Progress

I don't understand the "problem." Who holds a gun to your head and forces you to click on any particular topic? Don't you have the option of looking at what you want to look at, and ignoring what you want to ignore? Yeah, thought so. Problem solved. And this thread is done. -
Engine assembly question
Harry P. replied to SamBred's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Sounds like you're twisting the chrome parts off the sprue. Never do that. Always use sprue cutters to cut the part away. That will generally leave a little "nub" where the part was attached, which needs to be removed carefully with a sharp X-acto knife. Be careful to just remove the nub; try not to remove any more chrome on either side of the nub. Any "white spots" can be touched up with a small brush and a tiny dab of Testors Silver bottle paint. -

I'm not into trucks, but that looks like a spectacular model. If I was a model truck builder I'd be all over this thing! -

Got the belly pans installed. I'm down to two last steps... fitting the hood, and the drive chains. Fitting the hood is the easy part. Those drive chains are the thing I've been putting off. Still looking for some 1/12 scale pre-assembled roller chain. I have found several sources... just have to decide who to go with, and this baby will be ready to go "Under Glass!" -
There are so many variables (every model company uses a slightly different recipe of styrene)...so there's no one correct answer to your problem. Here's what I do, and it works very well. Before painting, I'll take the body, and under running water, use some very fine steel wool to thoroughly rub down every inch of the body. Not only does this remove anything on the plastic that shouldn't be there, but it leaves the surface ready to accept primer or paint very well. Another way to do it and get the same result is to use Comet (or any brand of kitchen cleanser... even the generic ones work well), and use a stiff toothbrush to scour the body with the Comet (again, I do this under running water). Then rinse thoroughly and let air dry. Either way, you will have a spotlessly clean body ready to accept any paint or primer you want to use.

Semi-gloss and satin are basically the same. Different manufacturers use their own term. The actual level of gloss will vary slightly between manufacturers, but you'll get a finish somewhere between dead flat and gloss. Same deal with flat and matte. Same stuff, two different words to describe it.

I don't see any harm in doing that...

That's a cool tutorial. Simple and effective. -
The "free" air at most gas stations in my area is 75ยข. And you have to work fast to hit all four tires before the compressor shuts off...

OK, just out of curiosity... what are the logistics for putting on an event like this? I assume most of the cars are trailered in. Is there a "floor plan" of what car goes where? Is there some sort of schedule that exhibitors have to follow to place their cars? How long does it take to set up everything? And my biggest question... what happens if it suddenly begins to rain?

That's soot that blew through the less than perfectly sealed exhaust manifold.
