  1. Nice looking model!
  2. I built models as a kid, then stopped in my teens and didn't really get back to it for many years (got sidetracked by the usual... girls, then a marriage, then three kids and working to support them. I had no time for hobbies!). Got back to it again in the 90s as an adult, once the kids were older and I actually had the time to have a hobby again. I've been at it ever since, but not steadily. I go for long periods where the urge just doesn't hit me, then I get the urge and suddenly I'm back to building... but I can easily go for many months at a time without touching a model at all.
  3. Mouse over this area and the little box will appear. Click on it.
  4. Some of you guys are seeing all the stuff on the right, like this: But I click the little X to get rid of all that clutter. Here's what I see: Just like Mike said... once click and all that stuff disappears.
  5. I figured out why I don't see it. I have that whole right side column collapsed. I don't want to take up space with birthdays, calendar, etc... so I just turn that whole column off.

    Bug finished

Just don't try chopping the top on a VW Beetle... that's really hard to do.
  7. "Esel" is German for donkey... Seriously. It is. And of course, another word for donkey begins with an "a" and ends with "ss." You might want to ask your wife what exactly she's been calling you all these years!

    Bug finished

Looks like a factory stock build (aside from the paint color), so why the custom taillights? Not a slam, just wondering what your reason is. BTW... that's a good color for a "bug!"
  9. A picture is worth a thousand words. Do a google search. http://www.google.com/search?num=10&hl=en&safe=off&site=imghp&tbm=isch&source=hp&biw=1261&bih=723&q=racing+harness&oq=racing+harness&gs_l=img.3..0j0i5l3j0i24l6.880.3485.0.4459.14.13.0.1.1.0.159.907.12j1.13.0...0.0...1ac.vRFaDSP4gco#q=racing+harness&num=10&hl=en&safe=off&site=imghp&tbm=isch&source=lnt&tbs=isz:l&sa=X&ei=dmQsUIOIIeWVyAGRqoDIDA&ved=0CCgQpwUoAQ&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&fp=a7a37d3652d003e2&biw=1261&bih=723
  10. Sounds like it's too new to be collectible, it's just a used truck. So you have to decide whether the time and $$$$ you'll have to spend on it is worth it to you. And if you do spend the time and money to fix it up, then the question becomes what are you going to do with it? Where are you going to park it? How are you going to be able to drive it every now and then to keep it in running order if you don't have a CDL? What about insurance? Lots of stuff to think about. If it was me I'd sell it as is and be done with it.
  11. Ah, that explains it.
  12. Read the title of his topic. Missed the last month because a circuit breaker tripped?
  13. It's not that obvious in the still shots, very visible in the video: http://www.youtube.com/user/damncranky666?feature=results_main
  14. Tang was being advertised and marketed long before the space program.
  15. I was too young to go, but I've read about it. Wasn't the problem that waaaay more people showed up than they thought would come, and they sort of overwhelmed the whole place?
  16. They still make Tang. And BTW, it wasn't invented by NASA. It was invented in the late '50s and had nothing to do with NASA or the space program at all. But Tang was on the "menu" of one of the early manned space flights and people sort of got it into their heads that Tang was invented by NASA for the space program. And from the Fun Facts File... the guy who invented Tang also invented Cool Whip. Coincidence? I think not...
  17. I just watched the video on youtube. Looks to me like the rear wheels are too far forward, they're not centered in the fender wheel openings. I know that's not your fault, it seems like a flaw in the model itself. Anyone else think the rear wheels sit too far forward or am I seeing things?
  18. So those sneaky kiwis were stacking the deck. Typical...
  19. Well, I like all of Cranky's work, restrained and over the top!
  20. But we beat China in the per capita score. And in the real score too.
  21. Nice! But pretty restrained for Cranky, isn't it? Geez, it's almost subtle!
  22. 1/4 scale Mopar HEMI engine, for one.
