  1. Don't worry guys. No painting around the snakes. It was dark and I just wanted some better light for pics : ). Going with the black side trim on this as well. Been playing with the tubular k member as well. I should have room for the long tube headers that I have for my snakey power plant...
  2. Please show is how you do the racetrack trim.
  3. Yup. Last 3 months of 91 calypso came on line with the black moldings. 92/3 were body colour. Now I guess it's just personal preference lol
  4. Very early 92 maybe? I have never seen one with black except in pictures. About 90% of the calypso cars here are 4 bangers too. The next one is going to be a bone stock tropical yellow car but I will be using the corrected resin body on that one
  5. Wow, thanks for all the interest guys! I am hoping to get the last of the clear on today. I am under the weather again so I will do my best. As for the trim, I am torn. The black looks good but to be correct it should be body color as calypso was only offered in 92/3 and on the LX the trim was body color in those years. I think we will revisit that after window trim is black
  6. Seeing as I now have 8 of these I figured I would try one out. I am combining some of my favorite mustang things and stuff I play with every day in 1:1. Anyway here is where I started It's mini tubbed with 325/50 15 drag radials. Stance will be much like above It will sit much like this car But it will be this color, calypso green. One of my favorite fox colors Here it is midway through paint One of my problems is wether or not to do the side trim black or body color you can see the 2 options in the photos I am painting both the cowl hood and a stock hood. The engine I'm putting in it is one near to my heart as I have 2 of them in 1:1. : ).
  7. I see Steve saleen is doing a modded tesla. It's pretty cool as well
  8. I love it. I remember when john colletti built this and I think he even had luggage made to match. I hope Tim Boyd chimes in as I think he was still with svt when this was done. Wonder where it is now?
  9. What did you use for the burnt orange interior?
  10. Can I join? I have a calypso green lx notch on deck. Oh yeah it's gt500 powered and is caged, mini tubbed and running 325/50 15 drag radials...
  11. I'm still at it. I was away with my 12 yr old son at the pee wee box lacrosse national tournament. He made our provincial team ( quite proud of him) we were gone for 11 days then I got home and got sick. Just feeling like a human again and have been fabbing up a 3in exhaust for this and got the grille etc in. Hopefully I can get some time tonight to bring this one closer to done
  12. I am now actively working on the engine. Updates will be coming soon : )
  13. Looks like a great project. My uncle built a caged, tubbed, tunnel rammed 396/4speed vega just like this when I was a kid. I still remember sitting between the tubs holding the cage. It was a very violent car. He ended up taking it apart
  14. Agreed. The 69 super bee is the same way
  15. Good info. Now I have done my learning for the day : ) Back on topic since I derailed it a bit, what has to be done to the door panels after that reshape on the body?
  16. Really? Danchuck lists one windshield and one weatherstrip for all models. I have no first hand experience though as I'm a ford guy lol
  17. Just to throw this out there. all 57 Chevys used the same windshield glass so the statement about the different size is incorrect Coupe, convertible and wagon = same windshield
  18. I would try and get the rim to fit in the tire better
  19. Uuggghhhh. Only way I am ok with that is wher cars like that were originally done when close to new and they were just left that way. A friend of mine has a raven black 69 boss 9 with rear flares, big tires, tunnel ram, big headers etc and some wierd murals on the original raven black paint. It has 16000 original miles and was built this way in 71. I'm ok with that one. Lol
  20. Wow. Being a mustang purist all my life I pray that's not a real deal 9. Should be easy enough to replicate in plastic. Oh, I'm woozy now... Lol
  21. The dipstick comes up in front of the pass side valve cover. You can see it in the pic
  22. Bottom one looks like Olympic gold
  23. Also the A code didn't come until mid 65. It replaced the 64 1/2 specific D code 210 hp 289 4 barrel. The gt didn't come until the A code 289 came. Mid 65
  24. The gt got the A code 289 4 barrel standard it was 225 hp and had a regular blue air cleaner/ valve covers. The K code hi- po was 271 hp in the gt it was a solid lifter engine and a dual point non vacuum advance distributor. It came standard with the chrome covers and air cleaner. Shelby got 306hp from tri y headers, intake and a hotter camshaft
