  1. I used the Testors Purplelicious on a '67 Charger that I built. The metallic wasn't all that noticeable and I would have preferred a little more metallic actually.
  2. Great looking paint finish and clean trim. Like the stance.
  3. Like the different paint finish and the Overlanding chassis and drive train.
  4. Beautiful looking wagon. I like the Concours style of finishes. Following your WIP and seeing the finish on the trim and grill areas hard to realize these are all handmade and not parts from a kit or commercial conversion. Great job.
  5. Thank you for sharing your photos. Whatever the show may have lacked in quantity it made up for it in quality. Like seeing all the different build styles present.
  6. A couple of alternatives: Model Master Plymouth Prowler Purple Metallic PH7 or Testors one coat lacquer #1842M Purple Lucious. Rustolium Paints has taken over both of these but seem to be reissuing them and can be found at Hobby Lobby and I'm sure elsewhere as well.
  7. Shame to lose your life over a little pontang.
  8. While I'm not into lighters at this point in life, I did enjoy them when I was using them. Yesterday we went to a local liquor/smoke shop to do some shopping. I noticed a display they had in the cigar area of some impressive looking lighters for sale in a locked show case. Sort of a dressy looking exteriors as opposed to the normal workday lighters. My last lighter was a butane lighter; I think it was a Ronson that I gave to a friend and coworker when I stopped smoking.
  9. I have always thought that if more of the automotive design engineers had to work on their own products once in a while such things wouldn't be a problem.
  10. PM me your mailing address and I'll send out a pair by the weekend.
  11. Beautiful paint color and finish. All of the body trim is cleanly detailed. The frame is a model all by itself.
  12. That is some great looking plastic surgery.
  13. I agree with everyone on the scale of the engine. While it has to be one of the best looking Ardens by far, it does look almost like it is from a far larger scale kit. I was going to mention a problem I had on this model the last time I built one. The grill surround, whether you're doing the stock or custom, is hard to line up. The mounting point on the fenders isn't really accurate. I used the body with the hood mounted to get the right angle of the grill surround. When you get to that part of the build you might want to try that if it isn't lining up like it should for you.
  14. Great looking finishes. The setting for the photography really works with this build. Very realistic looking engine detailing.
  15. Great looking body design. Would never have thought of that, but like it.
  16. Many years ago, I was a heavy smoker and well remember some of my Zippos would leak a little fluid into the lining of my blue jeans pocket until it would start itching my leg.
  17. I agree with you about not running over animals. I have run over more than a few squirrels, and I'm trying to not hit them. There is a reason the term "squirrel" is used to describe someone who is, well a squirrel. Yesterday we went to my wife's favorite Mexican restaurant and encountered several dead raccoons, skunks, and a few unknown carcasses on the roadway. We live in a rural area with no streetlights or sidewalks, so the roads are dark at night and the nocturnal animals are out moving about. I hate to see this but I'm thinking that with a minimum exposure to vehicle traffic at night some of these creatures just don't know how to react to an oncoming car.
  18. Great looking show. Thanks for sharing.
  19. Great looking paint finish, very realistic looking patina. Like the stance and the front bumper switch out.

    ‘79 Chevy Nova

Great looking Nova. Like the body color and the contrasting interior. The body trim looks very clean.
  21. Great looking paint design. Like the stance as well.
  22. He has a lot to be proud of with this pickup.
  23. That is a good-looking shade of blue and should look really good with the curves of the Willys body.
  24. Other than very little clean up on the door body line it looks great. That Arden has me thinking I should get one as well for some future build yet to be determined.
  25. Great looking show. I like how there is such a cross section of vehicles at these shows.
