Beautiful looking build. You are right about some older decals that do not want to cooperate. These here all look well done.

The British "Woodie" - Morris Minor Traveller
espo replied to 1959scudetto's topic in Diecast Corner
About 25 years ago my wife and I had a couple that we were friends with. She had worked in their Florist Shop when she went back to college. They were a few years older, but we enjoyed their company and they seemed to enjoy ours. Richard, the husband, was fond of European cars and Morris' in particular. They decided to go to England and Scottland on vacation and Richard got a complete wood kit for the Morris woody wagon he was restoring. Seems that at the time the road taxes were so high there that many people were restoring these since the road tax was so low compared to newer cars. This was in the mid 1990's and he said that he could get anything he wanted or needed at a reasonable price as the support for these and many others was so strong. -
Beautiful looking collection. Would be proud to have any one of them in my garage.

Remember getting the block of four stamps with the serial number for the sheet of stamps in the tear off portion. I was told that they would be the most valuable to a collector at the time.

The British "Woodie" - Morris Minor Traveller

The reason for the gap in the roof was that they also offered a small pickup and a sedan delivery with a slightly raised roof over the cargo area. As for the pickup, I had a part time job when I was in high school delivering parts for Bay Cities Auto Parts in Santa Monica Ca. They had about a half a dozen of the little pickups that I would deliver parts with. They were gutless, but good on gas. -
At first glance it looks like a real car. Beautiful paint finish and the interior as well. The engine detail looks just like the real thing.

Great looking color combination and paint finish. Like the way you detailed the engine and chassis.

How Do You Remove Paint From Chrome
espo replied to midlineqb's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
As Les pointed out, there is a very good chance the original kit chrome may be compromised using most methods. Something to try that should not bother the chrome would be to soak the part in real warm water. This may or may not work depending on the type of paint that was used. I have seen this done when restoring antique door hardware. Generally, they are removing oil based interior house paint. -
My VW 3d printed projects (current and future build)

Like all the different body styles that we never see her. The pickups are of the most interest to myself but the Audi looks interesting. -
Like the interior and the white color would be a big advantage in a 1:1 car as well. Clean looking engine.

1957 - '60 Ford trucks
espo replied to mk11's topic in 1:1 Reference Photos: Auto Shows, Personal vehicles (Cars and Trucks)
These pictures show a lot of great ideas for future builds when this kit hits the market. I was already liking the idea of this being reissued, now I'm really looking forward to it. -
‘57 Chevy Stepside
espo replied to NOBLNG's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Like the color you picked up. You might want to double check the fit on the kits glass if you haven't already. The AMT based '55 - '57 Chevy pickup kits are kind of a hit and mis on fit. Like the stance in picture #2. -
Great looking Camaro. I agree with Snake on the color looking like the Rally Green color from back in the day. The body trim is all cleanly done. Like the big & little Good Years.

You have to be brave to get old. Takes all night to do what you used to do all night.
-
Beautiful looking paint finish and trim.

Beautiful looking Camaro. The color and paint finish look great. The SS stripes and trim all look cleanly done.
-
Beautiful looking Chevelle. Great color and engine detailing.
-
Like the direction of your body and engine mods.
-
Great looking Kustom Body and the paint finish looks nice and smooth.
-
Great looking engine. The paint details as well as the wiring are all well done. The color and finish on the exhaust manifolds look dead on. The paint flaking off the Oil Pan is something I have seen on many cars from that era.
-
Your extra efforts with the engine and interior detailing look great. Nice smooth paint work as well.

Scribing panel lines. How is it done?
espo replied to conchan's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I have tried several different tools from a #11 too tools designed specifically for scribing. There are several tutorials on scribing here on the forum. I would read them and experiment with some of the suggested tools until you find what works best for you. The use of some sort of guide would be a good idea along with practice on spare bodies before you go after whatever you're working on. -
I also remember the plastic slicks in the old kits. While there are better options today than back then, I would still like the wrinkle wall plastic slicks. They just had the right look.
