  1. Would love to have a '57 Nomad wagon as long as they can get the shape of the roof corrected as well as the hood and grill. Revell never seemed to be able to fix the shape of the roof.
  2. Great looking paint work. Since you mention the stripes. While personally not being a big fan of most of the OEM striping schemas of the era, in this case I would keep the side stripes and drop the hood stripes. The model looks great either way, but the plan black sides just look like something is missing, and again this is only my idea, so just do it the way you like it. Like the engine detailing.

Great looking showroom style build. Like the colors and the paint finish. The interior finish looks good. Nice engine detail.
  4. Great clean looking build. Like the OEM look and the colors look very much like 1957.
  5. My biggest concern when I get down on my hands and knees looking for a dropped part isn't whether or not I'll find the part, it's whether or not I'll be able to get back up.
  6. There is a local Buick car club here in the KC area and they show their cars at the annual big show here as well as others in the area. Most of their cars are based on this body style and are GS models. Most try to stay very original looking. There is one that is painted black and that is presented as the OEM color. Another is white and has what is said to be a protype front spoiler. That car has been in a few enthusiast magazines in the past. I agree, paint it whatever color you like.
  7. Looking through these pictures you keep thinking that you have found the one you would want to own. Then you page down some more and find something else you would want even more. Great show.
  8. Try making a few prototype shapes using card stock, like a business card or paper. When you find a shape that you want transfer that to some flat or even round stock to the shape you want.
  9. I have three different pin vices that I use. One is sort of large and has a couple of larger drill bits as well as a couple of tapered file type ends. The main one I use has 6 or 7 different sized drills inside. The maker didn't think enough of their product to put their name on it anywhere, but it has served me well fore many years and is still the main one I use. The third one is the smallest and will work best with the very small bits. The bits I use with it are from a drill stand I bought that has a range of bits from #80 or 0135 too #61 or 039. The one I seem to use most often for the prewired distributers that I use is the #77 or 018 size. I have bought these from my local hobby shop along with replacement drill bits, but I have also seen them offered at places like Hobby Lobby. The ones that Ace has suggested is also a good way to go and I do still have a couple of those as backup.
  10. Perhaps a base for the dash could be made out of some flat stock. A couple of half rounds could be used for the lower as well as the upper portion of the dash. Some shaping would be required, but the gauges could be created with a few very short parts cut from some round stock. The gauge faces might come from left over decals or some of the ones offered by the aftermarket.
  11. Thankyou for the pictures.
  12. One change that I would welcome would be a short bed instead of the long bed. Maybe just mark the inside of the body and frame to mark the cut lines would even help.
  13. Like the Sedan Delivery body style here. The blending of the Ford parts from other kits, especially the interior works well together. I agree with Ace on the Ford pickup grill, looks right at home.
  14. Glad to see you're on the mend from your accident. The build looks great and probably good therapy for you as well.
  15. The kit's dash looks more like a customized '40 passenger car dash. Not all bad, but not what you're wanting to replicate your friends' truck.
  16. Good looking color. Might keep the rear window as clear as possible so that the cargo floor can be seen.
  17. As glusnifr mentioned this is a great kit. The Gold body and Black interior along with the Black stripes should make a striking looking model.
  18. Like the later model Ford in a Ford for power. The gold color reminds me of some of the gold base colors used for Candy Reds and other colors. I'm a big fan of both the kit and the subject for that matter.
  19. I used to have to go to the hardware store in town to buy a model. The five & dime didn't even carry them.
  20. Can't attend, but hope that there will be pictures.
  21. While a good point about any Moebius plans to offer a '60 F100, there would be a big difference in the kits design. The reissue of the '60 F100 will be welcomed, but if Moebius were to offer their version it would be a far more detailed kit I'm sure.
  22. Great looking build and a very popular car in its day. I'm sure they are enjoying it and glad they are doing well.
  23. Great looking Charger, and like the light green interior color you used in contrast to the body. Nice engine details.
  24. Great clean looking build and the additional engine detailing looks good. Always fun to build a model of a car that you enjoyed years ago.
  25. I agree with everyone else on the paint color and the smooth surface. Very cleanly detailed.
