Great looking shade of blue and cleanly done. Like the stance, fortunately we don't have to turn corners with our builds since the fronts would also hit the wheel well opening as well.
-
Beautiful looking build. As for giving it to your friend that gave you guidance and I'm sure some encouragement along the way makes perfect sense.

I agree, but it does seem that more and more people are thinking only about themselves and not displaying even basic courtesy let alone any kindness toward others.

lil Daddy Roth Paints ?
espo replied to Jon Haigwood's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
You can't help but think he's trying, almost too hard, to be his father. His products may be interesting for a 1:1 project, but out of scale for what we're doing here. -
lil Daddy Roth Paints ?

I wonder if this is his son, the reason I wonder is that Roth's son has been on Ian's show on TV. This last week Ian built a Trike and the young Roth showed up with some spry cans he is marketing with the big flake paint. -
We all seem to age like fruit. We start off in life looking like a Plum and later in life we start looking like a Prune. You have to be brave to get old.

Not sure of the "parking lot edict" in your area, but in most areas where I have lived you would put on your turn signal to express your intent to take the parking spot when it is vacated. Most of the time this works fine, and the other driver goes on about the parking lot looking for another spot. In your instance and considering the other persons actions your father's suggestion may have saved you some scratches and minor body damage to your car when you got out of sight,

The cost of any body work on cars today is astronomical. Had a close encounter with the garage door frame last year, I can explain but it would be rather boring to most. The dealership and another well respected body shop were both over $2500.00 estimate to repair. The dealership even said the door would have to be removed and taken apart to be sure the door safety beam hadn't been damaged. This was a small crease that didn't even break the paint. I remembered a small one-man shop that had removed the spoiler and some paint detailing for me on another car and he had been reasonable and did great work. His estimate was $400.00 and if you saw it, you would never know that anything had ever happened. The two points I'm trying to make are 1: Should a dealership or body shop that does a lot of insurance work usually report to Car Fax and others that body work had been done. While this is fair enough, this will show up someday in the future when you're trading in your car. This will have an effect on the trade-in value. So beyond getting your car repaired your car has also lost value due to the damage done to it. Who pays for that? 2: Should you have a smaller local shop that doesn't report to Car Fax or others, you may be able to get the repairs done just as well and keep the value of your car intact. You should check some of their before and after work if possible.

Like the theme of the low buck driver. -
Great looking representation of what happens to far too many show cars as they descend into everyday use and abuse.

Beautiful looking Bel Air. Like the color combination and the clean chrome trim. I saw the picture of your gold/beige '56 Bel Air Hardtop and it look great as well.

What did you see on the road today?

Great idea for a long-range tow vehicle. One problem with that many fuel tanks is this rig can cruise down the road longer than your bleater can. -
Amt 64 Cutlass chassis options?
espo replied to br67's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Maybe, and only maybe since I haven't tried it since I don't have the Olds kit, the Revelle '65 Z16 Chevelle kit might be a possibility. -
Great looking restoration.

I remember using those, but all the Head Shops have closed around here a long time ago.

I agree with EMIR. Hard to get that true of a Barn Find finish. Looks like a really well-built model.

With the extensive modifications you have done to the body sounds like your chassis fitting problems are actually pretty minimal. Great looking trunk detailing.

Gopher offers a few sheets of decals based on commercial signage.

Another source to consider for the wire mesh can be found at a local ACE Hardware store or the like. They sell a patch kit for a screen door. Small squares of screen and even offered in a few different thicknesses. Got the idea from someone here on the forum and used it for grills as well.

Great clean looking build. Like the color and the finish looks nice and smooth. The stance along with the wheels and tires look like today.
-
Great looking Merc. The color combination looks good with the cleanly done chrome trim. Your background in the first photo reminds me of SoCal in the '60's.

You really need to warn people to put on some sunglasses before the look at the frame color. That is bright alright.

Your idea of listing it in the Wanted section should give you the best results. The style of air cleaner you're looking for has been in several kits over time.
