Keeping Up Appearances has always seemed funny. The Oslo character and his sister-in-law living upstairs with daddy. The one that was always the funniest was Coupling. They tried to do a US version, but it never did compare. The things they had the Jeff character doing would have you laughing so hard it would take a couple of viewings of the show to get all of the dialog.

Great looking finishes. This body style is so homely it's cute. -

I like the style and the way you painted this. The body looks great. I have used a few bodies from Star in the past, I'll have to get one of these. -
Great looking pair of Chargers. The extra detailing on the engine goes a long way.

Beautiful looking colors, Clean looking and better than the ZZ Top livery, I think.

Wasn't Lucerne Blue the darker shade for Pontiacs? -
Almost looks like a possible OEM color.

Great looking paint. The engine, bomber seats, and the keg all look good. -
Great stance and the paint color and finish look great as well. Realistic looking engine details.

I was going to ask you about the Tamiya X-33 Bronze paint. Is that for the remote-control bodies? What was your source for the interior pattern ?
-
Great looking interior and I like how you did the steering wheel, very realistic looking.

Like the color layout on the '57 interior. You had mentioned different interior patterns and colors. A lot of examples can be found using Google. In the case of the '56 model interior, the Revell 210 kit has what was called the Del Rey interior option and it was offered in a few different colors. Our family car was a 210 with the standard interior and somewhat boring by comparison.

Try doing what Ace has suggested. While clamping the body together to wait for glue to dry may be an option, even with a microfiber towel for protection there is a very good chance that the imprint of the cloth may appear in the paint and no guarantee how long the glue will hold. Don't ask me how I know of this.

What Did You Accomplish Today? (Model Car Work)

I have owned a few black painted cars in my life plus a couple of very dark blue ones. They do require some extra care unless you don't care. The only commercial car washes I will use are the brushless drive thru ones that clean only using water jets and blow driers, even on the white car I drive today. Even hand washing I use two different wash mitts depending on what part of the body I'm cleaning and use the hose to often hose out the mitts even during washing. I use two different chamois when drying the car as well. These also are rinsed parodically to remove any contaminants. Seems like a lot of work to just wash a car, but think about what that car cost you, so why wouldn't you care for it? Or maybe some people just don't care what their car looks like, sort of like going out to dinner in a nice restaurant with a dirt wrinkled shirt and pants, I guess. -
I have paid good money in more than a few restaurants and not eaten that good.

We had not been married very long and had just moved into our new home. I'm at work and she's having a garage sale. She calls me at work, and I'm trying to talk to customers. She tells me this guy saw the 350 engine I had in the corner of the garage and the guy wanted to buy it. I told her it wasn't for sale. She calls me back to say the guy wanted it really bad and would pay big money for it. I don't recall how much I told her, but it was enough that I could get a new one thru the parts department at work. I get home that night and the engine is gone. She got what I wanted for it, but she threw in the brand-new engine stand it was on. -
Clean looking build. Like the wiring and detailing on the engine and the headers look great.
-
Beautiful looking paint finish. Like the clean look of the body.
-
Beautiful looking VW. The paint color looks great, and the finish is really smooth. Clean details everywhere you look. Got the stance.

Something kinda special in the shop...
espo replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Sounds like some work I had done on a '57 Ford from long ago. Had a local, highly recommended body shop, shave the hood and the panel between the hood and the grill. They never closed the holes in the body panels, and I had several inches of pink bonds hanging from the underside of the hood. They did get the hood smooth and primered. -

My wife knows better than to mess with my model room and related stuff. That said I have no doubt but what you will be able to bid on whatever is left on E Bay before I'm cold and in the ground, unless they're running a special on cremations. -
Krylon or Rust-Oleum for primer
espo replied to Greg Myers's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Use primarily Tamiya primers and Mr. Surfacer products for the finest finish. When working with a Resin part or body I have found Dupli-color primer is much better paint adhesion.
