  1. They both look great and interesting that you would go Oldskool and your father went more modern. The best part was you got to do this together.
  2. Beautiful looking finish. Painting the stripes was the best option since the kit decals don't seem to cover bright colors like this. That said that is a great job of masking and painting as the lines look dead straight. I like the cleanly done chrome trim.
  3. I like the stance on these two. Obviously this is with the air Suspension aired down, but I like that look. Great colors, these can really change how a model looks/ The convertible top from the T-Bird looks good on the Continental.

    Camaro 69

Great looking Camaro. The wheel design offers a good contrast to the body color. I like the engine swap and how you detailed it.
  5. Nice that you're starting with a kit that is in very nice shape. You mentioned the "Woody" option an yes it was an option in the early years of production but not often seen. I was working at a Chevrolet dealership at that time and we sold a lot of Blazers and the only Woody's I ever saw were in the order books. At that time the Wood Grain option on station wagons was not often asked for and I think GM was just trying some trim options in hopes of selling more Blazers. I have seen pictures of this option on a Black Blazer and on a Tan colored one and they both looked good. I think it might look kind of cool to do one. Look forward to seeing what ever you build.
  6. Beautiful looking paint work. I like the body rake and the cleanly trimmed engine.
  7. Great looking proportions and all the body panels lines look good.
  8. I remember seeing more than a few interesting builds by other members of the Forum that used mostly parts left over from other builds. This would give you a chance for something you might not otherwise build.
  9. I like the Gasser vibe and is that a Y Block or just the Valve Covers ? I like how you hand painted the bed cover.
  10. Great looking paint and the interior goes well with it.
  11. Beautiful looking service truck. The paint looks great and all the trim and signage looks perfect. I like seeing one built with the Flathead engine as well.
  12. Very cleanly done and I like the wheels and tires. I for one like these 1:1 cars but pending them pulling my Lottery numbers I don't for see ever owning one.

    Awsom 50

Beautiful looking finishes and great paint. This sure looks like the one in the movie.
  14. Great looking paint work. I like how you blended the different body parts and back dated the grill shell. The interior looks perfect with this style.
  15. Great looking engineering to make this into an almost stocker. The addition of the Desert Cooler and the curb feelers really add to the look. The colors play well with each other and an addon Continental Kit looks good. I remember a guy who had an old beat up Allstate that could only be started by parking it at the top of a hill and letting it roll down and pop the clutch in second. The starter and the battery were both shot and the engine didn't have much compression anyway. One way to tell an Allstate sold by Sears and a regular Henry J was that the Allstate didn't have a trunk lid asa the rear deck was solid below the rear window.
  16. Beautiful looking Caprice. The paint finish and color look great and very close to an OEM color that was offered on these. The wheels look nice also.
  17. Great job matching the photo. I took that photo at the car show at Fort Leavenworth this summer. I notice you went with what looks like a Ford FE engine. Do you have any pictures of your interior and chassis ?
  18. Neat kit, but if you're going with those wheels and tires I think you'll have to either back half the chassis or widen the body, or open the wheel wells.
  19. No Ray I don't think it will ever stop, just sort of goes up every time they can find a new excuse to raise the price of gas. We had gotten a CostCo membership long ago and one of the upsides is that their fuel prices seem to run ten to fifteen cents less a gallon than at the chain service stations in the area.
  20. The custom fade paint work really looks good on this. Another nice cleanly built kit.
  21. Very clean looking little Ford. I like the colors and the paint finish looks great.
  22. Great looking build. The decals laid out very cleanly and considering their age that's really hard to do,
  23. Just check their web site every Monday. They post all the sale items including the model section. Right now, in my area anyway, they are running 40 % off on plastic models every other week and this is an off week when I checked yesterday.
  24. I agree, this looks great. This is also one of the great Moebius kits even with it's draw backs. The back side of the headlight buckets in the grill bottom out on the radiator core support and this keeps the grill from seating correctly. I had to go back into the one I built a coup[le of times after I had finished mine. This will also allow the grill to slide up to meet the fenders and then the hood will also fit correctly. I like how you detailed your chassis.
  25. Looks like you are off to a great start. I hope it's only the angle of the photos but the models front wheel well opening doesn't seem to have the same shape as the picture of the 1:1 car.
