Beautiful color and finish. Like the gasser stance. Bright contrasting interior, fitting for such a vehicle.

Beautiful looking paint work and colors and many major body modifications. You didn't mention the windshield, but it and the side vent window have been changed. Opening the tailgate and making it fold under the bed looks great. Knowing the basic chassis and engine in this kit your changes really standout.

Something came to mind reading the letter from the District Attorney. I think what he may be asking of you, or will ask of you, is your feelings about the accident and how you were treated and reimburse for any loses. This is something that is done when the person found responsible for damages and other violations is going to court to be prosecuted. What the DA will do is get a feel for the victim's feelings and how you and the others feel Mr. Guaman should be punished if found guilty in a court of law.

'64 Chevy C20 "Jethro"
espo replied to Kromolly's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I like the realistic looking body finish and remember seeing many old trucks in this condition still in service. There is something enjoyable about building a model of past vehicles that you have owned and the fond memories that often come to you when building them. -

I have one that has been used as a flowerpot in the past. The flower would grow out of the neck. -
I appreciate your understanding in this situation and also glad no one was injured luckily. I also had much the same situation many years ago while stopped waiting for someone to make an illegal left turn and got rear ended. The lady was driving her husband's company car since he was too drunk to drive at the time, although she was sighted for being drunk as well. Each situation is unique, and the individuals involved have to make their own decisions as to what should or shouldn't be done. The only thing I might add, and this is up to you alone. The extensive damage, while your truck was repaired, will show up on a Carfax if you should ever want to sell it and would be a consideration as to its value based on that damage. That may or may not make any difference to you but something to consider.

Couple of fun items

I've seen the Fred & Wilma figures before and like the trashy look. -
Like the patina finish on the body and chassis. Great detail on the stock style Flathead.

I sort of liked the roll pan look, but in reality, bumpers could save some body work in the real world. Tucking the bumpers in close to the body will look good as well. Do what you think looks best.

Enjoy watching the high level of detail and imagination you're putting in this build. -

Put a Ford Cammer engine in it to beat their Hemi Plymouth. -
What did you see on the road today?
espo replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Had to run an errand this morning when I saw a car parked on the side of the HI way going in the other direction. At 60 + mph I thought better about trying to fumble with my cell phone to take a picture. Just sort of a nondescript 4 door import except that most of the body work in front of the windshield was seriously damaged. The local deer population seems to be spending a lot of their nocturnal hours chasing each other about and it looks like they got another car last night. -
Hemmings Muscle Machines bites the dust
espo replied to Luc Janssens's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm in the same boat on the Hemmings Magazine issues. I also get their Classic Car Magazine. I recently started subscribing to their original magazine and they have made some very nice improvements as to coverage and their online auctions. The remaining issues due you on this subscription will be replaced with their original magazine so if you're not a subscriber now you'll receive the remaining issues of that magazine. This will give you an opportunity to see if that would be a valid consideration for your interests in the future. For myself I think I'll probably stay with the old original. I used to subscribe years ago and sort of drifted away but I'm finding the way it is done at this time interesting again. I think it is sad that so many, if not all. of the magazines we used to subscribe to and enjoy have all gone away. -
He should be able to tell you what style of stripes he's going with, unless this is supposed to be a surprise for your instructor. My want to verify that the chassis and front subframe will go into your kits body with the front roll pan already in place.

Reminds me of the old saying, "You can tell the men from the boys by the size of their toys".

The dogs are often better behaved than some of the children I have seen on Santa's lap.

Had Yage surgery on my left eye this morning and I can see almost perfectly again. Next week they're doing my right eye also so I should be back to 100%. Now I'll be able to see how badly I have been doing on the detailing of my present kit build.

Mabe just people with too much time on their hands a warped sense of humor. About five years ago my wife and I were enjoying the sunset on our back porch with an adult beverage when we got buzzed by a drone. By the time I was able to reposition myself on our other deck with a 12 gauge it was leaving the area. I think I may have been seen by the drone since we never saw one in the area again.

Beautiful looking fictious kit car build. The paint finishes and sponsor signage looks realistic. The chassis and the VW engine look like what a kit car could have been. Like seeing your Avenger GT kit car. A lot to be proud off with that. Looks professional enough to be a production-built car. I share your kit car experience somewhat. I cheated since I acquired mine as a done car needing some work. I was working at a Chevrolet dealership in 1980 and a guy wanted to trade-in his kit car on a newer and more reliable car. As a dealer we wouldn't have offered as a resale car on the lot and would have wholesaled the car. I told the dealer I would buy the kit car wholesale, and he was able to make the trade then. What I got was a Bradley GT with I think was a 1300 VW engine and chassis, needing a clutch and many other adjustments to the body and latches. I played with it for a year and sold it on since I had other interests at the time. The gullwing door latches were never a 100% even after a year and the body had to be partially lifted off of the chassis to get the engine out to get to the clutch.

So many great looking builds. This is a good way to show them off. -
Great looking Cougar and love the story about the owner, sounds like a colorful character. Beside the great paint I like the wheel and tire setup along with the stance.
-
Great looking paint color and finish as well as the vinyl roof. The chrome body trim looks real cleanly done.
-
Great looking paint color and stance. Like how you detailed the factory Rally Wheels so that they look far better hear.

Great job with the body conversion to a Buick. The paint finish is nice and smooth, and the colors remind me of the era. I agree with your appreciation of the GM Colonnade body style. Working in a Chevrolet dealership at the time they were harder to sell than the previous Chevelles, but I find them far more appealing today than at the time.
