In addition to the Tamiya Panel Line paint, I have used Tamiya brush paint X-19 Smoke. They both work well to define small details on a part. -

Great looking paint color and trim. Like the clean interior. -
Beautiful fade style paint colors and finishes. The body work has a great late '50's - early '60's feel. Like how the interior is done and especially the floating dash.

That part would have had a chrome part for the center of the grill or bumper bar. Think '55 Olds grill.

The chopped top was a major undertaking and in the 1:1 world you can find many that really do look bad and were done by some experienced builders. I like your pancaked hood design as well as the rear roll pan.

Birds seem to do some strange things sometimes. Years ago, had an issue with a Robin that used to fight with its reflection on our dining room window. They are more territorial than you might think.

Beautiful looking paint and color. I'm a fan of the subject and like how you painted the optional Ventura interior. The chrome body trim looks nice and cleanly done. -
Beautiful looking paint color and finish, almost looks like a candy red. The contrasting interior color and especially the seat inserts look great. Very cleanly detailed trim and engine.

Like the look of the body and top work now that it is all in primer. Radical body work but it all flows together.

The Value of a Thunderbird (1958-1966)
espo replied to Falcon Ranchero's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Nathen, I don't know if you remember the info I sent on the Mecum Auction here in Kansas City, but an update on the Thunderbird that I mentioned for you to look at. I know it isn't exactly relevant since it is far from you. My point was to show you an option to consider in your quest for a car similar to the one your uncle had. The car sold for $11,000 and that might be a lot more than you're comfortable spending, but the point is this is a car that is like new and looks to need nothing done to it to enjoy it. As others have pointed out buying a car that is inexpensive but needs a complete redo would cost you more than one already done in many cases. You can access the Mecum web site by giving them your e-mail address and you have to make up a password for yourself in order to log on to get any information on lots both sold or going to auction in the future. The only downside, if it is a downside, they will send you info on future auctions and sometimes on a feature car or truck. This would be no investment on your part and give you free info on lots that you may us as a comparison to what you're looking at near you. Just an idea for you to consider. -

Great body work and have always like your paint treatments on these old trucks. -
Other than the mentioned warped chassis the kit goes together well even with the bumper mods. The roof paint was a fun experiment.

Your first picture almost looks like a real car at the beach. The paint finish and color look great and the body looks smoother without the spoiler you mentioned. Clean looking interior and engine.
-
Like the understated paint color and the smooth finish. Great looking flathead.
-
The paint color shows the body lines well and looks nice and smooth. The wheels and disc brakes look great.
-
Great looking paint finish and colors. Like how the color scheme goes thru the interior as well.
-
Great looking paint and body striping. Clean engine and chassis details.
