Beautiful looking Corvettes. I always enjoy looking at and following your builds.

Beautiful looking builds. All very clean and well detailed.

Besides being very well done the subject adds another layer of interest.

Great looking group of Chevelle's . I remember watching a couple of these when you were building them. Very nice looking truck and trailer.
-
Outstanding looking race cars and the hauler.
-
Your touches sure brought this one alive.

Great looking Fury. You sure that isn't an old Narc car ?

So many great looking builds. The thing that gets my attention about your models is the very wide verity of subjects and how well they're all done. My personal favorites are the Ford Delivery and the Hudson convertible along with the poor forlorn looking '50 Ford convertible.

The gauges really look sharp.

I think the idea of adding the material to the sides of the hood will make for a stronger hood. You have put a lot of planning and effort into the air intakes, but as Rusty (bisc63) mentioned it may be a better idea to keep the engine and interior details more visible. What if the actual intakes connected to a scoop just below the rear window and the standard glass were left in the sides ? That way all of your interior work is visible.

Your convertible looks great. Was that the kit that was issued in Pepto Bismol pink ?

I'm in the "foil it" camp but many here swear that the pen works best. With the fear of messing up a fresh paint job why not practice on some old scrap pieces and see which you prefer. Everything else is looking good with your build.

The problem with the '67 or '68 "glass" in a '66 GM body is the difference in the size and shape of the roofs and bodies. Starting with the '67 models from GM sharing the same bodies is that GM enlarged the over all shapes from the '65 and '66 bodies. Then you're dealing with different scales and manufactures. Perhaps making your own "glass" with clear film or plastic might be easier to do.

2018-2020 Dodge Challenger and Charger
espo replied to johnwitzke's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I would also love to see either of the Challenger or Chargers in kit form, I still have a few of the '09 kits in my stash for future builds. My reasons are very much personal having owned a '10 Charger RT with AWD that was traded for a new '18 Charger GT with AWD a little over a year ago. They both share a very aggressive look that I think would make them attractive to build even if you had never even driven one. The Hemi engine could be easily swapped to other kits . Builders of Law Enforcement vehicles would have a field day with the Charger. As a personal note, after 97k miles on the '10 Charger RT and over a year of driving the much less powerful V6 and 8 speed auto. '18 Charger GT you can understand why so many in Law Enforcement like them for their handling and braking alone. -
I have been using Future Floor Polish on grills, bumpers, and even windows for a long time with no problems. This is something I learned from another builder here on the forum a long time ago. I'll clean the part to be sure there is no lint or anything else on the part. Then dip the part in a small dish of floor polish. I use small alligator clips with a mounting rod made from cut lengths of old metal coat hangers. This provides me with a way to control the part I'm dipping and use the rods to mount the parts to a wooden board that I have drilled holes to hold the rods until the parts can dry. I suggest using a paper towel to lightly dab the edge of the part to remove the runoff from being dipped. Usually it will take at least an hour or more before they are dry enough for handling. You might try this a couple of times with a left over part to see how it works for you.

In addition to saving many lives his equipment minimized injuries for many others.

I was watching your build early on but haven't checked in for a while. I think it's looking good since that era of race cars never had the finished appearance we expect today. If you should want to try to build a correct '51 Ford at a future date check out Star Models. They're listed under the After Market/Resin section on the Forum. They offer several different versions of the '49 thru '51 Fords. I have built a couple of his Crestliner trim versions with the sedans longer roof. He also has a '51 Ford Custom line with the longer roof, correct Grill and Dash and Interior. As a young man I owed a couple of '51,s and for me the tip off on your original picture would have been the Hood Ornament as well as the driver's front fender trim. The Dash and Steering Wheel in the '51 is very different than the '49 or '50 also as well as the Grill. All needed parts are in the Star Resin kit.

Revell Ford Bronco

Great looking Bronco. I like the way you did the exterior trim and the seat inserts good also. -
Beautiful looking Corvette. All of the trim looks so clean. I can only remember seeing one of these in that color in the wild, it really stood out just like your model.

So many quality builds. I like the very clean looking finish on all of them. I remember watching the build on the beige '36 ? Ford pickup and the blue chopped Ford pickup. That silver little '32 is really special also.

Well respected and admired as a person, race car driver and later a team owner. His teams won the NASCAR Championship three times with Cale Yarborough in 1976, 1977, and 1978. Also three times with Darrell Waltrip in 1981, 1982 and 1985. Other drivers that drove for him at different times were Terry Labonte, Bill Elliott, and Geoffrey Bodine who would eventually purchase Jr.'s team. Besides being inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame he was involved in many ways that helped NASCAR behinds the séance including obtaining R.J. Reynolds sponsorship for the series for many years.

Very creative modeling here. The Big Wheel made me smile. That actually looks very doable in 1:1. Please post pictures when you build it.

You really don't want to mess with a Racoon. They may try and get away but they will stand their ground and can be very aggressive if cornered. I had a neighbor who went on vacation for a week and left the doggy door into their garage unlocked. Their little dog wasn't much bigger than a Racoon so these guys had no problem getting into the garage. After they damaged just about everything in the garage they could chu on they started chu their way into the house. They went through the wall board and insulation right into the kitchen. They got into just about every cabinet in the kitchen and ran sacked everything. Like I said, you don't want to mess with these little guys.
