Great conversion on the drive train. The color really stands out and the finish is perfect.

Very cleanly built and I like how you did the detail paint work in the engine bay and the chassis. As kelson mentioned about the exhaust, This is a 1970 model and the undercarriage looks like the spring of 1971 after one winter on the road.

Looking at the picture it's hard to think this is your first dealings with BMF.

Kit Manufacturers Quality Control Or Lack Of It
espo replied to VW93's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
A possibility on your rear window issue. I haven't looked at the most resent reissue so my knowledge on this isn't 100 %. I am pretty familiar with the original issues of this kit and at one time you would have the ability to build it as a coupe or a pick-up. The way you describe the rear window it sounds like it may have been meant for the coupe body. Maybe cut some clear plastic to creat your own rear window. I realize that the shape of the original window placed it so that the "window" part stuck into the opening from the inside so that the surface would end at the window molding. A home made window might look a little sunken or remove some of the inside surface of the cab to give a more desirable window depth. I have to agree with you on the condition of this kits front end. They should really tune-up the molds for this as it looks to me to be very worn or not done properly. -
I hope someone has some pictures to share on Monday.

Great looking color and finish. Very clean chrome trim. Hard to believe this kits humble beginnings.

I can only echo everyone else about leaving it as is, but that's my choice and it sounds like your trying to bring your self to go a little further. With that in mind consider the sponsor decals that are period correct. Leave the numbers off. I would try and find some sort of white tape that is easily removable and cut to the same size as the area where the numbers would be mounted. You could use some dry transfer numbers depending on which car your showing. With the dry transfer numbers on the white background tape you can change them at will.

Need help choosing some chains and hooks
espo replied to Ironman63's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Check the Jewelry section at some art supply stores. My favorite here is JoANN's, but Hobby Lobby and even Michael's has a pretty good selection. Besides some great small tools they have some fine chains and an endless selection of fasteners. I have used the chains, they have many sizes, for the Tail Gate on a Pick-up build. -
All of the prior suggestions will work and sometimes combining some of them also. I use Tamiya Panel Line Accent Color for the most part. In addition to Black they offer other colors also. A thought on the Grill you're working on now has a large area between the Grill Bars. Something I have noticed is that most any paint doesn't want to cover the kit chrome very well. Some times just a couple of passes with a #11 blade will create a grove in the area you're wanting to paint Black. Just about any thinned out paint has a hard time covering the chrome surface so you may have to apply more than one coat.

Thank you for the thought. I think any of those old Promos are beyond my pay grade. I have two Resin bodies now of a '50 and a '51 Ford Tudoor sedan to build of a couple of my past cars.

Make it into a K-9 Patrol Car.

While many are sort of poo pooing the '69 Chevelle I'll be welcoming it as something new to play with. For those who wish to build an accurate COPO Chevelle a good reference of an original COPO is featured in the April 2020 issue of the Hemmings Muscle Machines magazine. We're coming up on the first of March and I'm holding a April issue ?? Many good pictures and an interesting story on the car.

Very sleek looking convertible. I like the unusual color, with the wheels done this way also it really makes it look very modern. The top cover looks like one of those fiberglass parade covers they used to have for high end convertibles.

Very nice looking Shelby. I like the Petty Blue color and it looks much cleaner without the decals anyway.

Another great looking Jet Car. You mentioned getting Police parts for your build. The Revell '48 Ford coupe and the '57 Ford Del Rio Wagon both had some parts and decals that may help with what you're looking for. Another thought would be the '80's Mustang coupe, in it's first release Revell tried their best to offer some CHP options. You may have one or all of these in your Stash or put your needs up on the Forum, I'll bet there are many who would be glad to help you out with your needs.

Ours is also White with the Black interior. The Black colored Grill area gets a lot peoples attention when your overtaking them on the freeway. Civilians have figured out that it's not a Patrol Car but some local PD and County cars will still wave once in a while. Good luck to you both with this new one and know you have a substantial car around you.

Should you have to go with metal axels check any store that carries hardware. They will have Wire Nails in many different sizes and they have small packages that are sold by their weight.

'Mad Mike' Hughes killed in homemade rocket crash
espo replied to Mike C's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
There is always a curtain sadness when anyone gets killed even if it is sort of self inflicted. I guess the chute didn't work the way it was supposed to. I wonder if the Science Channel is going to show this guy crashing ? The Road Runner and all of his Acme equipment always made me laugh. -
If your wife is used to stepping on that Hemi very often the V6 even with the new 8 speed will leave her a little disappointed. We got an '18 Charger GT with AWD a little over a year ago. This was to replace our 98k mile '10 Charger RT AWD Hemi and 5 speed. For most normal driving needs the V6 is fine. But if you need to hurry it a little the lose of 100 H.P. will be felt. Our '10 would run away and hide from the new car. Still I have found the Charger to be an outstanding value for what you get especially for what you have to pay compared to anything else out there.

‘72 Chevy c10 - Whitt’s Aluminum
espo replied to Gerald Haney's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Amazing amount of work went into the chassis, body & paint, and so many different aspects of this build. Using the body pretty much leaves everything else is still in the box. -

I like the two-tone paint and nice body trim. I haven't seen one of those Corvette Mercury Marine engines for a long time. A 1:1 with that engine you would need a charge account with The Tire Rack. -

Looks great. I like the light Blue color. -
Looks great and I like how you used so many parts that aren't normally found in modeling.

Nice save on these two Vettes.
