What ? You mean these TV melodramas about Psychic's solving a major crime in an hour or less are untrue ?

Great looking build. Your color choice looks perfect for the Continental.

What did you see on the road today?

You might want to grab this just incase your 440 car doesn't work out. At least this is running and driving and could be used for a future project. At that price i'd buy it just to have it for parts alone. -
If you were to look up "Sleeper" in the dictionary there would be a picture of this little '53 Chevy. I would like to know what all he's done with the chassis and suspension on this.

Beautiful looking build. Any problems, did the front end lineup ok ?

Thanks. That was what I was thinking. I bought mine more than 25 years ago and just never got around to it. That's why I asked.

The '57 Flip Nose, is that the same as the MPC/Ertl kit ? I have a sealed model #6321 and have been reluctant to build it since these things are supposed to be worth so much money now.

Very clean looking build. Your color choice gives your build a nice high end look. The duel snorkel air cleaner may have been used on the engines with the duel four barrel carb. setup.

Glue Bomb Makeover: '68 Motion Performance SS427 Corvette

Amazing how much better it looks now. As for the color I'm still in rehab for my addiction to that. Glad you fixed the tail lights, not sure what the original builder was thinking. Ahh your license plate is still upside down ? The darker shade on the wheels spokes look better also. -
Your model looks just like the picture. If you don't already have the Gum Ball for the roof you might look at the '57 Ford Del Rio wagon kit.

I have to agree with you on the Clearly Scale Engines, they are very accurate looking. If you have a Hobby Lobby or a Craft Store like it in your area they often offer 40% off coupons. I have often used the coupon to buy a kit not with the intention of building it but to mine the wheels and tires, Chassis and Suspension as well as Engines and Interiors. At swap meets I'll pickup a few NASCR kits cheep for the same reason.

I wasn't watching the show when they started having the Firebird. What they should have done was to include the Chevrolet Z-28 hood or the Corvette L-88 hood and then they would have had the Hood Scoop Trifecta. Hood Scoops are ok if you have one or the other but not together.

The local Law Enforcement agencies are taking a much lower profile on their appearance in the last couple of years. Most of the local cities are using markings that are just a shade or two from the body color with no exterior lights visible and only black painted Spot Lights. The KSHP's new Chargers seem to all be white with a small shield on the door and the only noticeable exterior feature is the front "Cow Catchers" for the Pit Maneuver. It used to be they wanted their presents known and now the are laying in wait.

I don't know how long you have been away from modeling, but it sounds like you already had a good skill set when life got in the way. I think you'll find it's like riding a bike in that it will come back to you quickly. The models of Chargers are several and I think you will be able to find one or more easily. As for the Hellcat engine you just need the engine from one of the late model Charger/Challenger kits and add a Supercharger. I would suggest looking for the late model Challenger kits. Some are curb side but they offer wheels and tires plus the Disc Brakes you are looking for. There are many here that will help with questions at any point during your build so don't worry about asking questions as you go along. I like your Black Charger, we have a Dark Gray Mt.. '10 RT with AWD, love that car.

Never saw THAT before

While I didn't happen to see the event you are discussing, I have seen instances on Mecum where the bidding was stopped or rolled back. I think some times the communications between the auctioneer and the floor person who is helping the bidder sometimes just goes wrong. I have no way of knowing just what happened here, but it is possible that happened. I do have think that the auctioneer has his mouth going at such a rate that they miss what the floor person is trying to tell them. As far as being insulting to the bidder, that is always a bad idea. Old motor mouth says something that he thinks is funny but at the embarrassment of the bidders. I have seen one or two of the auctioneers that are far more prone to this behavior than the others. -

Nice tried looking work truck. I like your home made tail gate. -
That looks so much better than the TV car.

Thank you for the pictures and information on the conversion. I have the roof from a Revell '56 Nomad and I'm trying to see what I could use it on and the '58 Impala was one of the models I was considering. I saw that the top fender line dropped toward the rear and now I know why.

I have to agree. The photoshopped pictures are interesting but should stand on their own. I like seeing all of the interesting vehicles out there that are real.

About 25 years ago when my mother passed away my sister and I gathered up all of her old family pictures and were dividing them between us. At that time my wife and I had only been married a few years and had never seen any pictures of myself in my teens and early twenties. She was looking over my sisters shoulder as she explained to her who each person was. A picture of myself as a young slim man with thick hair leaning against my convertible came up and she raised her voice and said "Who is that ?" . Well we all had a good laugh and I was told to grow may hair back and lose some weight.

I agree with you there. I just bought the new issue off the '62 Pontiac just because of the wheels and tires. I already have a half a dozen Catalinas now.

I have to agree with the interest in the FD-150. I knew I wanted to build a few since I have owned two different '56 Ford 150's at different times. Just went to the Heartland Nationals this weekend and you could not count how many there were and the different styles of build had one or more in almost every class. I saw a few Cadillacs but they were all done in different colors but each one was great looking. I hope with what all Revell is going through now we will still be able to get these to build in the future.

Outstanding body of work. Each build is unique and beautifully detailed. I also liked the '58 Nomad. I was wondering about what all you had to do to the rear fenders and tailgate area of the body. I see you reduced the taillights to just two per side and I think you may have had to do much more for the tailgate to fit the way you have done, especially with it being operational.

Great looking build. Your paint job looks perfect for the Hugger Orange that was so popular on these.
