You get what you pay for. The Italeri kits are definitely worth the cost of entry, IMO. Also they're the only game in town for anything post 1975 (Moebius Internationals excluded).
The hobby shop that I bought my FLC from had the AMT Peterbilt priced lower than the Italeri box. Although, they didn't have both on the shelf at the same time...
Those wheels look to be from a Shelby Mustang. This kit should have shallow and deep Cragars. Those are the correct tires, though. Same ones as in the '66 Chevelle flip nose. ?
Does anybody know anything about the Ertl diecast chassis trucks? From what I can tell the Volvo N10 is a 1980-90 and has a Volvo TD100 engine. The Peterbilt is a 359 and has a V8 engine, but I don't know what year it would be.
Yes, 5-speed Getrag. The 4-speed was the SM465. It was so much taller than the Getrag that it needed to have an extra trim piece on the floor to cover it!
Recent trawl of Stevens International shows:
AMT-1229 1/25 1977 Ford Surfer Van $32.95
AMT-1251 1/25 1953 Studebaker Starliner Car in Collectible Tin $39.99
AMT-1252 1/25 USA-1 Chevy Silverado Monster Truck $35.95
I have posted this article on my website and have tweaked the article some. I can't edit the original post anymore, so here's a link:
