  1. The Edsel Comet in the OP looks like the inspiration for the 1960 Frontenac.
  2. Okay, where can I get a '70 grille so I can make the Crop Duster? ?
  3. A couple months back I picked up the original issue of this release, kit T278-225. I took a few pictures comparing the boxes and instruction sheets as well as the original decals. http://public.fotki.com/fabrux/40fordsedan/
  4. The Seabrook store has been restocked. I picked up the Scout and 65 El Camino yesterday. They have the 40 Ford Sedan, Edsel, 66 Fairlane, 55 Cameo, etc. Also stickers for the Greased Lightning Ford. Still have some stock 70 Chargers but I bought their last Baja Bronco a few weeks back and they haven't had any in.
  5. Their blog at collectormodel.com is still up. Must be a service issue.
  6. The headlights are from the T880 series forward axle model.
  7. Just picked up this kit. The tires are indeed the regular Scout ones with the hogged out inner side. The chrome tree is the same as the regular Scout but with the SSII grille. Spoke wagon wheels are a separate sprue. Body has no top and the pass through doors, interior/chassis piece accommodates the "doors." Funky aftermarket bucket seats, no stock seats at all. Also no cowl-mounted mirror as depicted on the box.
  8. So, Missing Link made a conversion but doesn't anymore? ?
  9. This truck has exploded all over my Facebook feed today with all the usual complaints about destroying an industry and a classic truck etc etc. I can't seem to find any information on it, especially from Kenworth. The images I have show a side view rendering, plus two pictures of an actual truck undergoing post delivery inspection it seems. The door emblems appear to say W980, which fits with Kenworth's naming scheme. To me this looks like a T880S with a longer hood. Does anyone know much more about this truck? What little I've seen suggest there will be a corresponding Peterbilt model to eventually supplant the 389.
  10. Just stopped at the Seabrook, NH store. The lady working was rearranging the shelves and putting in new labels; she said the new stock was coming in soon. I'll stop again on Friday when I'm driving through.
  11. Compare the Monogram 1:24 '70 Mustang with the Revell 1:25 '69 Mustang. That should clear up any lingering doubts. ? A comparison between Monogram 1:24 '73-'87 Chevy pickups and the MPC 1:25 versions will also show a big difference.
  12. The RC2 era Lil Red Express reissues suggest the '79 cab is a separate part of the tooling.
  13. The same tires are also used in the Datsun pickup kit and a couple of the Bronco kits. Some of them are a lot better and softer; seems to be lick of the draw.
  14. Just stopped at the Bangor, ME store. Pretty picked over, grabbed another Lindberg 37 Ford kit and a bunch of paint. They still have the Porsche 914, Mazda RX-7, Datsun 280ZX, and the S&H Torino.
  15. Seabrook, NH store has lots of clearance items that have been mentioned earlier. Including the Gama Goat.
  16. As I recall the boat is removable.
  17. My company has a batch of Cascadias that have air bags in addition to leaf springs on the front axle. Dump the air and the whole truck lowers. I believe Volvo also offered this as an option. I didn't notice that much of a handling difference.
  18. My "work space" is completely piled up with stuff ever since I moved it to my basement right before my son was born (January 2017). I have my main building supplies in a tackle box, paint in a Plano plastic organizer container for taking in the truck with me.
  19. I guess I need to find the older style grille to make my truck accurate! ?
  20. I'm a dork for inline 6 engines and incorporate them whenever I can. ?
  21. This past week I've noticed some Western Express trucks hauling Walmart trailers around here.
  22. No, this is an AMC 258ci, which was an optional engine in the later years.
