  1. The display with the service bed truck seems to have the stock bed behind it painted the same as the cab. I wonder if the kit will include both beds?
  2. Stopped for the day; turns out the old log book ruler is still useful for something. https://media.fotki.com/2v2EeU2v4xAUC7m.jpg I don't have any Round 2 boxes in the truck with my right now to compare with. But I think Rob was right, it is actually four short boxes for 3 tall ones.
  3. One needs only to look at the latest Escalade reissue to see Revell still doesn't match box contents to box art.
  4. I ordered this and the Chevelle when they released and finally was able to pick them up today. All this talk and no one has mentioned that the kit box is Round 2 sized instead of the traditional Revell box size. Might not mean much to most, but the way I store my stash I've always been able to stack two Revell boxes or three Round 2 boxes per shelf. Perhaps the new Revell is changing their shipping methods?
  5. You might have to start looking on Shapeways for wheels like those. I haven't come across any that big from resin suppliers.
  6. If you're looking to build the 3500HD all you can use from the MPC kits is the interior tub. The 3500HD trucks had a straight frame and leaf spring solid front axle.
  7. I believe that the California Pickup descriptor is supposed to reference the bed, which is not a factory piece but an aftermarket item from a conversion company. I seem to remember reading on here that a lot of box art from this era was requested on such short deadlines that the kits photographed came from collections and were not actual box contents. So you end up with the Nova and Mustang already mentioned, wheels on the box that aren't even in the box, a longbed C10, etc.
  8. Sadly it was an image of the box art in a newsletter and not an actual kit. Also nentioned was early 2019 availability, six cylinder engine, and two sets of custom wheels in addition to the stock steel wheels. The Torq Thrusts are a shoe-in but I wonder what the second set is?
  9. This came in my email today.
  10. Looking great, Bill!
  11. Hey, Rico, is this on your Shapeways shop yet?
  12. The truck is in service to a city in Quebec, so Mercury makes sense.
  13. +1 on interest for Mercury conversion
  14. Hey everyone, let's show some appreciation for the underdog engines that are rarely seen in scale form. Some are currently available, such as Ken Kitchen's Ford 300ci in carb and FI form, and I think there are versions of Cummins 12v and 24v out there as well. Can folks post sources for inline engines like the Chevrolet 292ci, GMC 302ci, AMC 258ci? Resin or 3D printed are welcome!
  15. That's even if you can find the model section; every time I go in there they move it and shrink it.
  16. The Edsel Comet in the OP looks like the inspiration for the 1960 Frontenac.
  17. Okay, where can I get a '70 grille so I can make the Crop Duster? ?
  18. A couple months back I picked up the original issue of this release, kit T278-225. I took a few pictures comparing the boxes and instruction sheets as well as the original decals. http://public.fotki.com/fabrux/40fordsedan/
  19. The Seabrook store has been restocked. I picked up the Scout and 65 El Camino yesterday. They have the 40 Ford Sedan, Edsel, 66 Fairlane, 55 Cameo, etc. Also stickers for the Greased Lightning Ford. Still have some stock 70 Chargers but I bought their last Baja Bronco a few weeks back and they haven't had any in.
  20. Their blog at collectormodel.com is still up. Must be a service issue.
  21. The headlights are from the T880 series forward axle model.
  22. Just picked up this kit. The tires are indeed the regular Scout ones with the hogged out inner side. The chrome tree is the same as the regular Scout but with the SSII grille. Spoke wagon wheels are a separate sprue. Body has no top and the pass through doors, interior/chassis piece accommodates the "doors." Funky aftermarket bucket seats, no stock seats at all. Also no cowl-mounted mirror as depicted on the box.
  23. So, Missing Link made a conversion but doesn't anymore? ?
  24. This truck has exploded all over my Facebook feed today with all the usual complaints about destroying an industry and a classic truck etc etc. I can't seem to find any information on it, especially from Kenworth. The images I have show a side view rendering, plus two pictures of an actual truck undergoing post delivery inspection it seems. The door emblems appear to say W980, which fits with Kenworth's naming scheme. To me this looks like a T880S with a longer hood. Does anyone know much more about this truck? What little I've seen suggest there will be a corresponding Peterbilt model to eventually supplant the 389.
