Absolutely gorgeous ! I like that you removed the third taillight , that's often overlooked . I've owned a few '60 Chevys and have been looking for one of these kits for a while now , can only hope mine turns out half as nice as yours !

After wet sanding and a good cleaning I sprayed two coats of primer . After drying for 24 hours I sprayed two coats of Meadowlark Yellow . After another 24 hours it got two coats of clear . The scoop is just sitting in place for now . I'll spray a couple more coats of clear after the stripe decals are applied . While things were drying I had time to work on the wheels and tires . To be continued . . .

Thanks Carl ! I've done several builds like this so it's not a real surprise anymore and it's easier now to make adjustments .

Just came across this build Bob , really sharp looking truck ! It looks great lowered with the bigger tires . I used to always spray a light tack coat before spraying the wet coats but found that Tamiya doesn't like that , always ends up a but grainy . Now I only spray wet coats .

Thanks much guys ! I finished pepping the body and got some white primer on it a few days ago then sprayed the color yesterday . Hoping to get it cleared this weekend and post some pics !

I was looking through some photos to see if I missed anything and realized that the seals around the door glass really stand out against the light yellow paint , so I added them using some .040" half round strip . After paint and foil I can brush paint them with some Tamiya Rubber Black .

I've always loved the yellow version of the Big Deuce and you did an excellent job recreating it as the Little Deuce ! Your attention to detail by adding the correct parts that Monogram left out of the kit really puts your Little Deuce above all of the others . Awesome work Craig and the perfect addition to your collection ! PM sent .

Absolutely . But I would take it a step further and remove the entire radiator support and replace it with a fabbed piece and use a separate radiator . Thanks for the input Steve !

Thanks Steve ! I don't think I've done a full detail build since my '71 Roadrunner so it's definitely time for one . . . but it won't be this one . Maybe the next one .

I've been collecting as many sets of clear headlight lenses as I can find so this morning I decided to tackle upgrading the molded in headlights . The front grille/bumper was successfully stripped a couple weeks ago so I start with the small round burr on the left . After I have the headlight removed I use the grinding stone to carefully shape the headlight bucket . The last step is to carefully ream the inside with the drill bit , this leaves a small step for the clear headlight lens to rest against . The white plastic is hard to see under bright lights so I used a Sharpie to highlight the rims , that way I could see what I was doing . The next photos shows the finished buckets and then the clear lens set in place . Time to start prepping for paint . Thanks for looking !
