Nothing on Ozark's website about any of the R&D Unique or Mini Exotics stuff yet. -
Gakken. Now there's a kit name from long ago. This will be a good project to follow.

The engine work looks very realistic. This has the makings of a superb model when it is finished. -
Nice project taking shape here. Built the Monogram one way back. Often wonder why it was never re popped since. Have the moulds been destroyed?

That's the video on Green Stuff Chrome that I looked at Jim. Thanks for putting it up on this thread. I must say that it looks impressive, especially the chrome being simply dabbed onto the figure. It will be interesting to learn what people who have used it think about it.

Nice little vignette Louis.

Can I suggest Mid Grey for the building frame colour? I think the car being painted black might stand out better. Interesting that you are using a mix of your own 3D designed parts, Plastruct and Evergreen. The building frame you designed looks really good for displaying the Bentley. Many years ago when I was planning a factory layout I used quite a lot of the Plastruct ABS Architectural mouldings. They were very good mouldings as I remember.

This build of Michael Schumacher's car looks like an interesting project to follow. It reminded me about Michael's suffering from that awful skiing accident, and that very little has been forthcoming about how he is recovering since. -
The display case you are making will be a fine complimentary way of displaying your model Francois. Did you 3D print the parts, or use some of the Plastruct architectural extrusion parts from their range?

Excuse my ignorance being a Brit living across the pond. What kind of store is Ollies? Looking at the posts on here they seem to have lots of stores all over the US. -
Never ever got to Harrah's and was under the impression the whole lot was sold off. Good to hear that there is still a Harrah's museum albeit somewhat reduced still operating in Reno. I still have a Harrah's booklet with a full list of the original collection obtained from way back. From what I can remember there was more to the collection than just cars.

Black interior, restoring lost detail
Bugatti Fan replied to DaveB's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Dry brushing some very dark grey over all the raised detail should give you a subtle effect by leaving the black in all the creases. If both the paints are matt finish and you are looking for a leather or vinyl look, when they are dry run the end of your finger across your forehead. Then gently rub the skin oil secretion onto the painted surfaces to impart a sheen. -
Watched a tv programme recently where a couple of guys were restoring a Fiat 500 but with some subtle upgrades. A reconditioned up rated engine was fitted. Front disc brakes to replace the drum brakes with a dual master cylinder. New shock absorbers. Replacement upholstery and sunroof and alloy wheels. All fitted after the body had some repair work and complete body respray. Looked really nice when finished !

Molotow Liquid Chrome feed problem
Bugatti Fan replied to Oliver77's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
The holy grail of chrome finishes..........If only someone could make one that stays brilliant and goes off rock hard ! -
Thanks for coming back on that Les. I will be interested to hear what you think about it when you get around to using it. Cheers.
-
Correction.........I should have said Green Stuff World not Hobby. Les, did you get yours in the UK?
-
Hopefully Revell might issue their chrome in bottles for airbrush use sometime soon. Good to see that it can be sealed without any detriment to the shine. Has anyone tried Green Stuff World's Airbrush and Brush Applied Chromes. They look very impressive on their website.

Molotow Liquid Chrome feed problem
Bugatti Fan replied to Oliver77's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
My Molotow pen tip dried out and got really messy when I tried to clean it out. Saw a video on Green Stuff World's website. They have an airbrushing chrome and one that was being applied by brush. They were using a figure for a demo and just dabbing the brush chrome onto it with fantastic results as far as I could see. Has anyone reading this used the Green Stuff chromes and can comment on them? -

Thanks for the feedback Steve. I thought that the Turbine car kit would be a bit of a rarity these days. -

I remember building their Chrysler Turbine car kit many years ago and spraying it with an AMT lacquer colour that looked very much like the prototype's colour. It was quite a nice kit to build as I recall from way back when it was first issued. Would like to build another. Has Atlantis or someone else got the moulds ?
