  1. Fujimi early Skyline or 240Z six? Tamiya Toyota Celsior V8? Tamiya Landcruiser turbo diesel six? Tamiya Mercedes 500SL V8? I'd go for the diesel in a GTO...
  2. The Parts Box axles all have wires cast into them. Resin axles without this feature will bend over time leaving your rod looking like a "stanced" rice burner. IMO you don't need to look anywhere else for all your resin axle needs.
  3. This is the Hemi from the '29 Roadster (installed in the 33 Willys van) Pipes are from something else.
  4. You're more than welcome Erik. Just make sure your shots are up to date...
  5. Wasn't me. But don't try too hard to work out who it was. I have tried to anonymously send a body to someone in the past and it P'd me off no end that he worked out it was me. BTW. Double brownie points for getting "whom" into a thread title.
  6. Imagine the first time. "Nah, nah, you'll be right mate. We've done the sums. Trust me it'll work..."
  7. I'm gonna scratchbuild a Winnebago. They are pretty much all flat or single radius curves. I've got plans. I've got the siding. I've even got a chassis and wheels. All I need is to finish more of my many WIPs to clear up some time and space. Or I suppose I could just start anyway...
  8. 76 Dodge Van. Twin blown 360s mounted in the back. Toby - 70 Super Bee on 70 Monte Carlo chassis with Toyota Diesel power.
  9. 70s rust proofing plus road salt means that most of these were eaten by tin worm. That probably says more about Switzerland than about the cars...
  10. Is that a pentagram on your cutting mat Andy? Are you carrying out demonic tuning? You're all doing very well. Not well enough to get there before me of course but very well all the same. I've been scratchbuilding 2 iPhone 5s and an iPad which will be dash mounted and which my co-driver (Kari Byron this year) will use to navigate, check for roadblocks and shop on e-bay for weapons. I've also been hand painting the side and window trim. This has reminded me why I don't often build anything this modern. Decals are now ready to print as well.
  11. Got a pic of the box art that goes with those sprues Casey?
  12. Seeing as AMT repopped the Manx it'd be nice to see this one back as well. How about a Foose Buggy Revell?
  13. I've seen a Jaguar balanced upside down across the armco barriers between the motorway and the slip road.
  14. Apart from the last part of #4 (sometimes you've just got to go with the wheels that look best) and the occasional deliberate leaving of the moulded in date I wouldn't enter a build in a show if it had anything on that list. Mind you, re #6, i've seen builds on the centerfold of the other model mag with decals spanning the door gaps.
  15. At the Victorian Hot Rod show in Melbourne every year there is a model display, 1/25 scale drag racing and there are always at least 2 vendors selling model car kits. One in particular has the same area in the hall every year and stacks the kit boxes up the wall to a height of about 10' and about 20' wide. This guy also sells the cheaper die casts and the stall is always crowded with punters buying both types of models.
  16. Great bit of reading. Thanks Slant. The pics of the interior are going to be very useful. I forgot I have to scratch up a laptop, phone & GPS. I don't think I have enough fuel capacity. Somewhere in the comments someone says something along the lines of "It's a lot easier to do on your own. When you get 45 guys racing each other the cops shut everything down PDQ". And that's the thinking behind my build this year. Something the cops won't stop. Next year though - stupidly fast. Maybe a ramp car like in Furious 6?...
  17. You'll have to choose when to use that carefully Ashley. Or are you going to have strategically placed "swap & go" bottles waiting for you along the route? Here's the first look at my subtle and tasteful paint job. Decals will be printed detailing just which federal authority it pertains to belong to. That's champagne car paint with nail polish stripes. Completed chassis (except for exhaust). I've added an auxiliary fuel tank under the boot floor. And the turbo installation. There will be an air to air intercooler in front of the radiator. As you can see the Celsior V8 is a tight fit width wise but there is no problem with the length.
  18. Yeah, just ask him to give you a want list of kits and suggestions where to buy them.
  19. Many different things in my time but currently with Australia Post.
  20. Read the first post. Dec 1st is the date to have it built by. Strewth, i'd better bet a wiggle on...
  21. Using Cruise will save money as they can use 1/18 die casts instead of real cars...
  22. 1955 Chrysler New Yorker Town & Country - moulded in salmon natch
