Model A Identification Charts
JollySipper replied to Kenmojr's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The roadster pickup has to be my favorite Model A......... I would love a real one, either stock or a hot rod! Or maybe one of each? -
I've made 5K posts, guys! I bet that I've learned at least that many tips on here, and plan to pick up at least that many more....... Best Forum Anywhere

I've done things like that on a lot of my models.... Especially cars that I would want in real life! One such example is this Turbo Coupe T-Bird...... When I painted the steering rack, I wanted it to look like an aftermarket part, so I painted it aluminum and put just a dab of paint on the rack cylinder to maybe look like a label..... Here's a link to the under glass post of this build.........

Possession of a computer that marks typos has kept me from making that mistake myself a few times.........

Guys, this is one smart pup! He'll already sit, lay, and give paw (for a treat, of course)! We're pretty much house-broken, too........ He knows how to occupy himself when I'm busy with something. I think he's gonna work out........
-
Everyone says that, Mike man...... You'll end up with another pet, though! It took a year before I thought I was ready for another dog, but I'm glad that I've adopted Emmet!
-
Here's a good riff for y'all! Has a really nice solo, too......

Anything you can do to me, just don't throw me in the briar patch!
-
What do you need for the engine? I may have parts of the nailhead from the '40 Ford Coupe......... I know I have the valve covers.
-
Some of the bimmer-dubs that I like have kind of a serious look to their front end treatment..... Not angry, just determined! I borrowed the pic from Instagram.......
-
I sometimes wonder why Mr. King didn't make 'Christine' a '59 Buick...... A lot more menacing looking! I guess the name 'Fury' was better suited....
-
Not a muscle car, but the '59 Buick has absolutely The Most ticked-off front end of any car, I believe......
-
Carl, I like the way the two solos in this song sound so different from each other..... The first one is kinda lite and hopeful, then when the Doc gives him his meds the solo is more moody and dramatic!

It sounds like you need some of this stuff...... https://www.modelroundup.com/Liquid-Decal-Film-from-Microscale-p/msi-12.htm You just apply it with a brush over the decal sheet, then let it dry. There's other ways, such as spraying them with clear, but the film in the link is especially for this......

I've always thought that the perfect Heart song could be written with the acoustic intro to 'Crazy on You', then the song 'Barracuda', closing it with the fade out of 'Straight On'..... All those rock, especially 'Barracuda's riff...........
-
One of these days, I'm gonna climb that there mountain.........

I have a handful or so projects going..... They're all held up by something different. The big scale Vette is waiting on paint, my Coyote X project is on hold until I can figure out how to hinge the rear clamshell.... There's the little 2002 that I'm gonna need to buy a magnifying lamp to attach the body trim to. I usually can buy a kit and build it, most of the time......

'Away' is where Lane Staley said he stays in Alice in Chains' best (to me) song........
-
I've heard that before! It's like they don't have to think or make any decisions, they're free to just be..... I'll definitely look for some local classes for me and the pup. Thanks for the wisdom!

Wow, John, that's a hoss of a dog! It's cool that you have experience with larger breeds, as I may could use some advice in the future, if that's cool? I believe Emmet is gonna be a pretty good size......... I know that treating them as an equal goes a long way with earning their respect........

Thanks, Tony! So far, he loves everything and everyone........ He even doesn't mind the hammy running around in it's ball. Easy puppy, so far!
-
Just went to the pound today and came home a pup richer! I've been calling him Emmet..... He's exhausted, had a big day......

Hello, fellows! I recently started working on the Yenko Camaro from AMT. Upon mock-up, I found that the chassis just kinda flops around under the body..... Sitting the model down then picking it up, there's about a half-inch of play there. I'm wondering..... what have some of you done to fix this? The interior kinda just does what it wants, too. I can tell very easily that this is an older tool, just hoping someone has come up with a solution for this......... Thanks, guys........
