  1. Well Dann I'm trying to build a truck/lorry at the minute. It needs a fair bit of scratchbuilding.
  2. Thanks Geoff, I didn't get to it, unfortunately.
  3. Which IPMS show was that Geoff, in the UK?
  4. I don't think I've ever had a transatlantic parcel delivered so fast. I ordered this through Amazon UK from Mitros Toys in New Jersey on the 25 January and it came today the 31 January! As soon as I opened the packaging I started to laugh, what silly box art work! I don't normally save the box top art, but as this is by far the funniest I'll pin it on the wall of my cabin where I do all of my modelling! I did ask before I bought it what scale it was but it's not anywhere on the box, but I'm pleased because it is quite big and lends to a bit of detail work!

    Dome Zero

WOW that looks great, I've been looking for one of these, I've recently done a road going version. I used to see these race in the day, superb swoopy and fast!
  6. Thanks Dann imagination is absolutely the answer with modelmaking.
  7. Yes Bob it sounds cold! It's 8C here in the UK at present and where our eldest son lives near Calgary tthat's -20C so even 59F is great let alone 70F!
  8. Thanks Jim I like it when surfs up, but not here it's too cold, your place would be perfect!
  9. Thanks Dan, well it might be a beach in Canada, but later in the year!
  10. Cheers Guy, yes just as good at being creative as anywhere in the world!
  11. Neat, clean with the right stance, well done!
  12. Cheers guys!
  13. Thanks Anton.
  14. Thanks Steve.
  15. Thanks Bob. Yes weathering is an art and I've not quite got it yet, only after 60 years of building kits. Everything always seems to have to be perfect, but out on the road, beach wherever, it's not.
  16. Thanks Vince. I was an airtraffic control marshall at the Silverstone Circuit just 5 miles away for nearly 30 years. I saw the Team Lotus colours in the 70's, green and yellow and wondered when I would be able to use it, well it's now and it goes together quite well. Well I looked at the box and saw the double wheel back axle on each side and saw the tyres, well the paddlers are better in sand so I changed them. I build as I would like the real vehicle for me.
  17. Thanks espo, Now I build as I see and would use that vehicle. In it's origal form with all the dark wood etc. I wouldn't even buy it!
  18. Thanks Bob it's just thick acrylic on the front tyres (enamel paints are no good on rubber) the rest is a sand rattle can colour that I've sprayed onto scrap plastic and let dry awhile before dabbing on with an old paint brush!
  19. From 'On The Workbench' Conclusion, I need to learn more about weathering or just wet sand!
  20. For the finishing pics see 'Under Glass'.
  21. WOW Richard you've done a fantastic job on this, well done!
  22. Yes unclescott58 I agree having the music thrown in was a great idea. I'm still going to look for the other two kits, although that may be very, very difficult!
  23. Today's progress, I'm glad I chose the colours as a surfer's vehicle should be bright and cheerfull. a few more additional touches and she's done!
  24. Superb Lanny, I like the stance, the finish, the boards and the hinge detail on the rear door and most everything else!
  25. Cheers Dave.
