Rough, but just what I wanted, and cheap. AMT "Styline" version of the 1963 Thunderbird hardtop, in a decent box with both stock bumpers and most of the Styline stuff, plus a few other cool little bitz. Wrong chassis entirely, but the fairly recent '62 convertible repop chassis fits fine, naturally. Missing lots of other stuff, but it's just like dragging a decent shell out of a junkyard to build something cool. I've wanted to do something like this for a long time, but with a very mild chop, and I prefer the sculptured side detail of the '63 over the rest of the spacebirds.

I've done that. Recently. That's why I laughed.

More and more disgusted with USPS. Two packages shipped Saturday, one that is extremely time-critical, neither tracking number has been updated since I dropped them at the PO.

Cool car, lotsa money, but what kind of "car guy" writes "And check out that cool HEMI-type blower sitting on top." I think you may not know what a blower is, little fella. Nothin' visible in the under-hood shots that looks like any kind of supercharger...or am I missing something? -

They're everywhere, but they're rarely this funny.

What works for some just doesn't work for others. I'm somewhere between pretty well organized and totally out of control...most of the time.

Or you might find or make 2 clear ones and call 'em backup lights.

Another one of my heros gone...but never forgotten.

Do you also have 1:1 project cars?

I think I'll have a banner printed of that to hang in the shop for whoever asks "why's it taking so long?", and I'll just point. -
That would be from this...

Man, I LOVE that thing. Funny...in the photo it looks like a mid-'60s southern moonshine runner. Badass car. -
In case you guys haven't noticed, there are a lot of butts in the world, and some of them get their little jollies by provoking and then watching people on the internet give them free space in their heads while they sit back and laugh. Just sayin', as they say.

It's a beautiful day, the sun is shining, birds are singing, air smells like wild roses and honeysuckle. I have too much paperwork to get through today to take a hike, but I slipped the leash long enough to walk the 2 miles to the store and back. Fixin' to have a tomato sandwich for lunch. Life is good. EDIT: I find it helps me deal with big, difficult things to be mindful and thankful for the small things.

Power went out at about 11:23 AM local. Heard the transformer blow. They had it back on at 11:40. Pretty good response time.

LOVE it. Biggest smile I've had all week.

If you're serious, I'll gladly take it off your hands. Send me a PM if you want to work something out.

Heller / Union has a version too. More engine detail IIRC. I'd have a look, but I've moved all of mine already. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/heller-l744-porsche-917-k--157469 HRM offers an engine package for the Fujimi kit. Not always available, so check sellers like Model Builder's Warehouse frequently. They sell out fast. https://www.modelbuilderswh.com/collections/engine-kits/products/porsche-917k-engine-and-detail-kit
