  1. It is, I was posting what the diecast should look like. The Petty car and the black car you posted are the body style used from 77 to 79, the diecast and the green car are 80 to 85 models.
  2. Will you be using cans or an air brush?
  3. Here is a pic of the real car to compare. Someone made a resin caprice body, it might be easier to start with that.
  4. Wow, that diecast is so wrong. I had an early 80s Caprice and that thing is OFF! The roof it too tall and the trunk and hood slope too much. You have your work cut out for you on this one to back date it to the seventies style two door.
  5. I think most of the problems with warping in the Generals kits was the packaging for the last reissue. If they would pack them like they have the recent kits it should be much better.
  6. You might could use rafia, they sell it in bags at most craft stores for cheap. You could cut it into short lengths and stack it for square bales or wrap it for rolled bales.
  7. No problem, a lot of people don't realize that the Charger was a B body also and shared platforms with the Road Runner, GTX, Belvedere, Coronet, etc. I think since it was only offered in a two door body and it doesn't share any sheet metal people think it was a stand alone platform.
  8. It's close, all of the the B body mopars got updated for 71-74 but nothing changed enough that anyone but a mopar expert will notice it. If you have the newer AMT 71 Charger it would be the ideal choice but again the chassis were so similar I doubt anyone could spot the difference.
  9. Wow, much better! The second time nailed it.
  10. Why don't you send the model fairy my way?
  11. Or stop buying them so the companies get the message that we want new toolings of ancient kits.
  12. Gee, that looks terrifying.
  13. Why are you trying to cobble together a workable setup? You can get a workable oiless pancake compressor from Harbor Freight for around $50. Just put on a regulator, filter, and water separator and you will be good to go, you will still need all of that stuff with the other setup anyway.
  14. The Topkicks never used the 99+ GM body that the Revell kit is based off of. You will have some issues getting the interior to fit the cab but I don't know how close the DG parts are to the AMT kit so it could be a fight either way. You could use the newer interior and just try to trade for a bed here to match the body, since it's a custom you have a lot of options.
  15. Looks good, the chrome on mine was messed up too.
  16. In no particular order: 73-79 Ford truck with correct long bed First gen Bronco 55-56 Cadillac Coupe Deville 73 Chevelle 80-86 Ford full size truck and Ranger 62 Olds 88 Pete 379 long hood Kenworh W900B Aerodyne 71-73 Mustang 70-71 Mercury Cyclone 72 Ranchero Kaiser M-715 46 Dodge Power Wagon Lincoln Mark III Cadillac CTS-V 2 door
  17. Did anyone make it to the show today? I did but I was super early and had to leave before any of the builds got there.
  18. That is a great build of a challenging kit. Where did you get those tires?
  19. I think they should have spent the extra $1200 for the anti-lock brakes.
  20. Yes, thank you very much. I picked up another 53 today so I would be sure to have a good one for this.
  21. Interesting, I had always thought a coach builder did the conversions. The only ones I've ever seen around here looked like civilian vehicles.
  22. The Mack motor shown on the previous page is an END-673, its a non turbo version of the ENDT-675 found in the R685 and DM600 kits.
