Following one of my reference pics i cut the front cage work off in front of the radiator. Remade in plastic tubing, it was more awkward than i thought, but i got there eventually ! Worry was putting the body back on to check clearence etc, but it all fits in ok ! Ive added brackets for the Hood supports too, almost primer time now !

Spent ages just sanding this, bodywork is close to primer stage, and here`s the chassis so far. I`ve cut the window net out, to be replaced with something scratchbuilt.. bit more tubing etc to add then its primer time !

Hi guys ! Been looking for something different to build and after seeing a few very detailed nascar builds I thought id give one a try ! Im building Dale Earnhardts Monte Carlo first, maybe build the Lumina as a different car as the paint scheme scares me off ! Nascar is non existant here in the UK so Ive spent quite a bit of time researching, studying various builds, and collecting pictures. Finding a model was hard enough. This twin set was ordered from America , I then discovered the transfers were yellow, and folded, so Ive ordered a new set from Mikesdecals,

Nice build i like it ! Im researching Nascars as i know nothing about them, for an upcoming build... But are the roof numbers upside down ?

Thanks for the link Gerald, you can easily spend hours looking around this site ! ! -
I've got Dale Earnhardts Monte Carlo to build ( the 1995 car ) and I'm struggling with reference pics of it. I've looked at builds on here and the net but it just shows the outside of the car.. Anyone know of a site maybe that shows under the car / interior / engine etc shots ? Thanks in advance...

Wow Luke you produce the best black paint jobs I've ever seen, absolutely stunning ! Yes the 57 looks cool with the modern rims, think I'd give it a slight rake though ? Looking forward to more ( but get the drift Stang in next eh ? ) ?

Ooh liking this, the 67 Impala really suits the lowrider treatment ! If your struggling to get it that low, trim the tops of the tyres down. It can't be seen, so if it's a curbside anyway ? looking forward to more on this ...

Thank you for the comments guys, much appreciated !

My son is mad on these cars, and drifting, so i bought him drift lessons in one ! Thought for xmas id build him a replica of him drifting , with a little base to go with it... Started with the Tamiya Eunos Roadster kit, because it came with a hard top. The suspension was lent over on one side, and the front wheels fitted on full lock to simulate sliding... Driver is a Scalextric figure, cut about so he could hold the wheel, and look in the right direction ! Smoke is just cotton wool with ground up pepper ! I just got it finished in time, and he loved it !! Thanks for looking....

69 Mustang (Home Built Special) Drift Car
Lowlife ! ! replied to Cool Hand's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Yeah come on Luke, get back to the Stang... Your fans are eagerley awaiting ! ! -
Fantastic looking Wagon, great paint, detail , everything ! I may be mistaken, but the only guy I know that builds wagons this cool also has a thing for hugging trees ! Am I right ?

Cool cars the 300Cs, I've always thought these look slightly chopped as standard... Just a suggestion, but interiors are quick and simple enough. And the engine is mostly hidden under a air cleaner, so personally I'd still build these things ? If your gonna skip anything throw the suspension together, the cars going to be so low it's the only thing you won't see ! But hey, it's up to you, I'll have to have a go at building one of these myself one day !

Not a criticism here, but if your building a lowrider you gotta use lowrider wheels !! The first set, or those tyres with crager 5 spokes maybe ? Enjoying the build, good luck with it !

Sweet, yes I had a Honda slammed like this year's ago, if you can get it this low it's gonna look great !!

Sure is a beautiful paint job Ray, I look forward to the rest of the build ! As for the duplicolor 1k clear, can you buy small quantities ? And do you mix it with thinners ? I've never found a clear i like and I fancy trying this out !

Hi guys ! I Started this a few years back, after watching `I Robot` and being blown away by the Audi RSQ used in the film. Its not going to be a replica, just loosley based on the film car, with a bit of imagination thrown in ! I ended up using the Audi models chassis, running gear, engine and interior parts underneath a 58 Impala of all things, and Ive only just bought another R8 to continue this project.. So far ive been chopping up ping pong balls to use for the wheel covers, then removed the mirrors, badges, rear lights, petrol flap and cut the rear hatchback in two, blending the bottom half in ! Not sure about the rest, just making it up as i go... feel free to suggest ideas etc, I always appreciate feed back, good or bad ! Standard Audi R8 model, before some nutcase attacked it...

Groovy little car, the Gremlin ! Glad you got over the paint issues, looks great now ! If it helps BMF does seem to go off after awhile, keeping it in a cool place helps ! Look forward to the finished pics !

Back on this, to take a break from bodywork Ive started the Interior... Well there`s just as much cutting and sanding to get this to fit as the bodywork ! Carpet was fun, being 1/16 I used felt, 13 seperate pieces ! Seats were painted and outlined in black cotton.. Door panels are BMF, engraved chrome card, Molotow pen, and white fur ! Im happy with the dash now, i like the billet transfers, but the kit comes with all the dials/radio etc molded in, so i had to smooth the panels out before adding transfers. Any guesses on the cars name ? Clues on the dashboard !
