  1. Try Michaels http://www.michaels.com/search?q=display cases
  2. Thats because most of them were worn out , The wood grain was most definitely there when new but thin . I've had a few nos ( still have 1 actually )
  3. The shifter ball for 1969 4spd car Shifter itself, Non console 4 spd Shifter itself WITH a console 4 spd . On a console 4 spd car the only part you can see once installed is the round handle portion
  4. I know for a fact you could delete the stripe. Not sure about wheel well trim though. As far as a shifter.....try a straight pin with the round ball on the end to look more accurate shifter for a 69. Ps...it would be a woodgrain ball
  5. Just ckd, both wheel lip and rocker mouldings were standard equipment on a 1969 Coronet R/T . Thats not to say the restorer didn't like them ( or didn't have them ) and just decided to leave them off. http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/images/dealerships/DealershipDataBook/1969/69_Coronet0021.jpg
  6. The AO1 light pkg was optional. But am pretty sure wheel lip mouldings as well as rocker mldgs were standard on an R/T
  7. If the CMG charger is complete enough to build . Its probably worth somewhere in the $75 to MAYBE $100 range with the box. As long as its not a glue bomb. A few months back there was a mint unbuilt one that went for months listed for about $175 ,,no idea if it ever sold. Out of the vintage CMG cars,,,, it's the easier of the 3 to find and value reflects that. If the subject isnt to your liking it makes pretty good trade material. The one I have I picked up at a swap meet maybe 10 years ago, and if memory serves me right I paid less than $40 for mine. It had been started and is missing a piece of the interior tins ( still need it btw ) Otherwise it was all there in the box ( long since sold the box for darn near what I paid for the kit ). Back then the kit was just a little bit tougher to find than it is now. If it was the 68 Color Me Gone charger,,,, we would be talking . A decent builder 63 Fury is probably worth about $30
  8. Build it, I started with a kit very similar to what you describe. And I have no regrets .
  9. Holy smokes. I love it, even though its not a subject i usually give much attention to . But WOW..... Now I want one
  10. I had to remove some decals from my 1971 Duster promo and I just used solvaset and my fingernail,,,,. worked like a charm.
  11. love it
  12. I've bought most all the late 50s to mid 60s curbside style kits made back then. So.... now would be a good time to release a few of them, But I'm not holding my breath,,,as I doubt those tools even exist today. Personally I would love to see maybe a 59 Olds or Pontiac based off the 59 Chevy Impala kit tool ( if thats possible ) Or maybe a 58-59 Desoto based off the 57 Chrysler 300 tool
  13. when they're ready ..pm me
  14. Well, I know its not a huge sale, but make them and I'll take the 1st ten right out of the box. as well as a few sets of hemi carbs, probably even a few sets of max wedge carbs
  15. How about some plain old AVS carbs ?
  16. WOW. I'm amazed how well this one polished out. Spent maybe just over an hour. and have probably 2/3rds of the body wet sanded and polished. A LOT of the graininess is gone ( some if it is in the base coat and I cant do anything about it. ) but the shine is amazing. I can actually tell what kind of bulb is in my office room light. I LOVE this color ,,but its tough to get to show the true color on the PC. I've added a picture of the car I'm using as inspiration.
  17. A nice looking 1968 Coronet R/T hardtop.
  18. Thanks all. When i stumbled on a 1.1 in this color right after the kit was reissued. I knew i had to have it. Steve. I doubt it wil be anywhere near your quality.......but i may wet sand it and put a couple more clear coats on it before polishing. (there are 2 on it now)
  19. Pretty good idea on how to get more life out of the Little Red Wagon tool. I wish they would do something similar with the CMG car. There is some many of them out there, You cant hardly give them away at a show/swap meet. I bought a bunch of them at Ollies this summer for I think less than $8 ea
  20. Got a little free time over the weekend . And I have had this one in primer for months. So I thought I would get her in paint while the weather was nice. I had some air brush issues . So its nice a super slick as I would have liked,,,But not near as grainy as these pics make it out to be in person . I think for the most part it'll polish out good enough for my shelf. (pics make it look so much worst than it appears in person) Color is called Light Iris metallic. I had it mixed locally and had them use the finest metallic they had ,,,And I like it. Interior and chassis are both already painted( black ) . Build will be all box stock , right down to the white walls and 8 lug wheels
  21. thanks Steve. Im going to pick up some of the pointed Q tips this weekend and try them on the next one. Im trying to get about 4 or 5 bodies painted before winter
  22. Yep, same holds true to the 1 - 1 world. There are exceptions obviously. but unless something changes we are the dyeing breed. I just turned 57 and am more into models now then ever before. But I have more disposal income ,,,and once I retire ( 9 years 10 months 2 weeks ,,,not that I'm counting ,,lol ) I have a huge stash to work on
  23. I've tried the foil under paint now 3 times. with mixed results. On one it worked perfectly. On the other 2,,,not so well. My 1st one I let the car dry a few days and just took a T shirt with rubbing compound and rubbed like crazy ( its black so I didn't have to worry about metallic issues . ) It looks killer . My other 2,,not as nice as I would like. The other 2 were metallic so I cant do it the same way as above. I Just painted a 65 Grand Prix body yesterday in a Light Iris metallic and once reasonably dry I tried the Tooth pick dipped in thinner method , then rubbing it off with a dry but clean cotton T shirt method, and ended up with a slight shadow around the emblem from the foil glue . I like the idea and want to keep trying it that way,,,but to me is frustrating. Maybe I'm doing it wrong. I'm thinking on my next one I may try just a polishing cloth ,,like maybe a 12000 grit and see what that gets me . ( I have a 64 Belvedere in primer now that will be simple gloss white so my plan is its next )
