  1. Stopped back in the one near me today. Picked up 2 more of the Color Me Gone kits. and a Meyers Manx kit ( for the price I couldn't pass it up. ) I wanted more of the Polar Lights Mustang funnycars,,( got 5 of them last week ) But they were all gone They still had a boat load of the Ford pickups and the Superbee Charger kits. as well as a few of the lindberg cop cars. They also still had a few of the Lindberg L700 with trailer kits, but none of the truck only kits ( I bought 2 of them last week )
  2. Grind the glass out with a dremel ?
  3. Most of the kits / builders that I personally need parts for,, were just purchased in the past 12 to 24 months . So when said retirement was announced I didn't need 90% of what I need now . I have a list saved in excel to send once they re-open ( If they do )
  4. And I thank you. its sitting safely ,,,but patiently , in the stash Its on my short list ,,,might even be this fall
  5. Oh I agree with you. But were talking about the exact same body mods for the Dart Sport kit, and in addition none of the interior is the same , so that adds more expense. In the end ( IMO ) its cheaper to redo the Duster , and in my gut would be better received by actual modelers. OR, Another good option. Tool it into a 1972 Duster. That one would be even less money/effort.
  6. Yep, Johan 1971 Cuda kit. But have to ask,,,,,whats in the new Revell 1970 Sox and Martin Cuda kit ?
  7. Most of mine are still in the, as purchased state. But think these are my worst. I think they all are much better than they look,,,especially the 61 Ford and the 61 Impala. In order. AMT 1961 Impala MPC 1970 CUDA AMT 1970 Mustang Mach 1 MPC 1970 Cougar MPC 1971 CUDA AMT 1961 Ford Sunliner
  8. Thing is. Body , grille, fr bumper, hood, front fender wheel openings, front valance, tail light openings, exhaust tips - all obviously different. so that's a given. Otherwise its the same car. I'm pretty sure ,,,,,,Outside of the door panels the interior is the same ( seat pattern included ) If so ,,that's easy
  9. IMO,,,,, It would be considerably cheaper to do a Demon this way,,, than it would be to back date the Dart sport kit to it
  10. Unfortunately this is true. I wouldn't let it bother me, I've sent countless items out with no thoughts , cares or concerns on getting even a simple thank you( most times I do though). If I have the parts or knowledge of the subject at hand, and I have no plans for it . I'll share it without a second thought. Its the way I was raised. I Actually have a couple items to take to the post office in the morning. But I've followed some of your posts on these early car. And I thank you. I used to work at a restoration shop that specialized in brass era cars. and have since gained a huge fascination / desire for them . Thus my model collection of the cars from this era has grown considerably the past 4 or 5 years.
  11. And one I picked up a few years ago to replicate a friends car. Its actually started life as a hardtop kit,,,with major roof damage. So I cut the roof off of it and made it a convertible using the windshield frame and glass from the current AMT 1969 GTX vert. The build ,,,and the car it replicates ( sorry I dont have any before pics of it )
  12. Although I look for builtups all the time ,,,but to be honest ,,,I actually try my best to avoid ' glue bombs' if at all possible. I would prefer to pay a little more and buy something in better shape. But I think this is the only one I have that's actually completed. ( I have A BUNCH in the builtups pile ) Original issue SMP 1958 Pontiac Bonneville convertible. What it looked when I got it and how it looks today
  13. Exterior body and paint. I need to see what its going to look like before i go forward. Otherwise i can loose interest in the project pretty quickly
  14. Still want a video when it fires for the 1st time
  15. Bingo If it didn't work it would have lasted about a week
  16. Now thats funny. This is BY FAR the most intense build of ANY model car I have ever seen .
  17. Wasn't aware of this . I also have a MCW version the Speed City version is much better. But I agree, I would MUCH rather have styrene anyday Never in my wildest dreams did I think a plastic version of ANY true to life AFX car would ever materialize in my lifetime . When this hits the shelves I'll buy AT LEAST a case ,,,I have a feeling the aftermarket decal makers are already thinking about which ones to do Same goes for the A990 car
  18. When the Satellite hardtop kit came out, I wondered how many versions would be out of the tooling ,,,and am still wondering how far they are from done. I have a Speed City Resin 1965 Plymouth AFX ( plus a few others ,,but that's the best one by far ) I have plans to paint it this summer and then build it next fall ,,I seriously doubt I'll change those plans . But its a good bet Speed City will dis-continue there resin version soon. The only other one I can think of is the MCW version
  19. Chris, This is MY opinion only. It looks wrong. and at the level this build is at,,,,,, and considering the time and effort you've put into this one and the time you've put in this one . me personally I would fix it. Even it you just sand the edge where the white meets the blue on the roof, Scoot the edge / color separation line where it goes across the roof back ever so slightly ,,,,,Then change the angle where it comes down on the side of the roof to coincide with the angle of the window tin panel would be a major improvement Again, This build is WAAAAAAAAAAY beyond my capabilities that I could ever dream to to achieve . So my opinion may be moot point.
  20. I also agree, But the 2 pics of the barracuda are in shade. the AFX car is out in the sun. Maybe its painted the wrong color,,,,,,,but I've seen the AFX car in person and burnt orange it is not. It most definitely has a bronze-ish / gold tint to it . FK5 burnt orange has a brownish - red look to it out in the sun . And I will get 'at least' a case when these hit the shelves. I've already told my LHS shop owner I want a case of the 1965 Plymouth Butch Leal A990 cars when they hit
  21. Without a major retool......Imo.the only thing left is a convertible. Imo. The obvious choice would be a 63 dodge....but then i may be biased as thats on my top 5 list for cool cars. After all the 64 dodge and plymouth are already available
  22. Chrysler had waht they refered to as suggested interior /exterior color combos. But.......if you ckd the right box you could get any color combo you wanted..
  23. i will. I have both a 1959 and 1960 Edsel convertibles....both are near perfect mint in box examples. I didn't buy them for future collector value. I bought them to build.
  24. I follow the Golden Commandos on Facebook. Jim Hall says the AFX car was a color called ' candy apple tangerine ' Jim is one of the former members of the Golden Commandos
  25. FK5 Burnt Orange ( avail in 1970 only ) is no where near close to Turbine Bronze . I've never seen the Goldfish barracuda so I cant say one way or the other as to its color BUT, I've seen the restored Golden Commandos 1965 AFX car in person, and I assure you its NOT Burnt Orange. If I had to guess Its T5 medium bronze ,,or at least something close to it that was avail back in 64-65 time frame
