  1. Vintage drag cars vintage muscle cars. Have really got an interest in classic cars of the 20's - early 30's era. Any occasionaly I'll look at other subjects / threads but not much Big scale or trucks does nuttin for me
  2. I like it . and same here, I have several of the big cars for the 30's to do ( someday )
  3. Given though I have touched a model in at least 6 months. I am not sure. But last I remember I have 3 or 4 on the bench in various stages and at least another 6 to 8 stalled porjects I got bored with or didn't have the parts or supplies to go forward with . I've got a Lindberg 1964 Dodge superstocker I could probably finish in a day if I put my mind to it. But with kids activities ,,,job and shop projects ( not to mention simple inclination ) there doesn't seem to be enough time to get that done
  4. I keep thinking ,,,,,,,,,,it only took nearly 50 years to get a 1965 Plymouth B body . Glad to see it finally come to light. Although I personally would rather it be a 2 door sedan . But I can work with whats given to me . 2 thumbs up to all involved to bring it to light
  5. Yep, Other than the hudson, I want MULTIPLES of each shown
  6. Did some digging about this very car a while back http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=403865&page=5
  7. non sharktooth grilles are 'almost' the same between 1970 , 1971 and 1972 , if I remember right the differences were color schemes were different Body sheetmetal is the same between 70 and 71 decklids with the peak showed up on some late 1971 cars , and I think some 1972 cars had a smooth decklid door panels are 1970 only I think seat patterns were the same between 70 and 71 but there were color differences that were model year only
  8. Yes, I have an opened but sealed inside Barry Setzer Vega funnycar. Built one when I was a kid and it was one I had to have back ( have another one I bought as a started kit,, that one is finished and in the display case) I have several others that are stay sealed kits of kits I I had back then but nothing high dollar
  9. Cool subject. I have the same car on my todo list. BUT, I havn't been able to find any underhood or interior pictures . Wasn't this car one of the 2 factory built Boss 9 cars built ? And If memory serves me right is still unaccounted for ,, I have several pics of a restored car but I think its a clone. Are the wheels avail in 1/25th scale ? I have a MPC 1970 Cougar builder as a basis for mine. If I could find some more info on the car mine might come closer to the ft of the list
  10. PM me an address. I have several and I doubt I'll use them all . I got mine from Wendal Sowers out of Nashville ( now RedSoxfan) And I am not sure if he got the grille mold or not .
  11. IMO the F40 was so far gone and needed so much work,,, trying to put it back to factory stock would have been a waste of time. I agreed with the build, build it bad to the bone and enjoy it . I kinda like the show but don't necassarily agree with every build they do or how they do it. I'm not the one paying the bill either
  12. Somehow I doubt 'Holy Grail ' and ' Firebird should ' be in the same sentence. Rare ? yes. Cool ? absolutely Holy Grail ? doubt it !!!! IMO
  13. Here are a few I have bought over the past 10 years or so ,,,, essentially because they caught my eye. None are good enough that I would be happy with them if I had built it...but none are bad enough I'll ever take them apart for a redo To me they represent a time when models were simpler, such as moms sewing thread for plug wires as an example. The Saddleback Dart was probably never a glue bomb, but I think it's been for some time.(just not by me ) the others are most definitly old builds just by looking at the cracking decals or dusty glass. The S+M Road runner is one of my old builds thats probably been built for nearly 30 years. Every once in a while I get an itch to take it apart and correct it,,,,,,but I just pull it out, dust it off and put it back in the case. It's part of MY history just the way it is . Enjoy,
  14. Not aware of the grille issues ? What was wrong or / corrected. ps, till just the past few days, this is the only color picture of this car I have ever been able to find. I can see the ft edge of the hood is gold, top of the hood is red, is it the same treatment on the decklid is the cowl area red or gold ? , same for the area betwen the decklid and the base of the rear glass ? I've had the Cady decals to do this car for years and never able to be 100% sure how what was red or what was gold . I have maybe 8 or 10 of these kits already but will buy one of the new releases if for nuttin else but the box art
  15. This is the only color pic I can find of this car. And I've looked off an on for the last 5 years You can clearly see the 2 tone gold and white And Yes , I am glad to see this coming coming back to the shelves. I've built a couple of them.
  16. Well done, I've done several of the Polar LIghts cars. And even though they can be a tad tempermental to build. They sure do make for a nice looking shelf piece.
  17. I'll buy one of them just for the box art. and btw, anyone got any better pictures of this car. I've looked off an on for several years and never been able to come up with any other view besides whats shown on the box
  18. So the body ,,, ft and rear sections are correct for the car it's trying to represent ? sorry for the questions, but the Gassers never did much for me back then . But if the kit is right for the car it's depicting I may have to pick one up for the future
  19. Isn't this the kit that back in the day had the wrong body to to the actual car? Like wrong ft clip compared to the body ?
  20. I usually buy builtups with a vision already in mind. as an example, in the past year I've bought builtups of an MPC 1970 Cougar - going to be Schartman Cougar pro stock and bought a 1/25th scale 1970 Mustang - going to be a - a Al Ecstrand Pro stock. On the flip side, I've bought several builtups of old drag cars i will leave exactly as they are. Such as an Eddie Schartman Comet, Vanke 1972 Duster and a few others. I just can't bring myself to take apart.
  21. WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like that one. I've got a Reliable Resin Body to do the same car and keep putting it off,,,,,,, might need to rethink that
  22. Good looking car, And yes they can be a bit figgity to build I've built several of the Polar lights funny cars ( including this one )
  23. Because I build a lot of sixties drag cars , a lot of my stuff is white , some are all white with lettering, some are mostly white with off color accents several black cars folowwed by a few reds, yellows and blues and even a few green and even some gold cars. The least common in my case is probably orange( think I only have one )
